  1. I can see where you both are coming from with how the car performs in street driving vs moving the power band. I probably should have been more specific with what I use the car for to help out with this, the car gets driven on the street maybe once monthly if its lucky, i have done 5,000kms in the last 2 years which is inclusive of the dyno time and 2 track days so its not really used a lot in traffic. After i get out of my daily it feels like a noisy bumpy pig on the street any way I loooove good spool! but I am really chasing a turbo that will get me to the higher RPMS also. I think best bet from all the feedback will be to start piecing together a kit rather than just sinking money into a add on that will give me a few extra killawasps haha. I am super interested in the BL/BP twinscroll headers mentioned I had no idea this could be done, is it a bolt on application or is there other bits needed @pl0x
  2. Thanks to those who came, was a small meet but cant complain when you get to eat Gerry's chicken ha ha. Looks like the count down is on until Flatnats so if anyone is keen for a meet before then chuck one up
  3. Unsure bro would say an hour or so? Can go for a cruise after if people keen
  4. Yeah I know a V7 sti with a Tomei turbo that is at 275ish kw on 98 and 305kw on e85 so the turbos are quite good by the seems the only thing I wonder is for the price of them you could spend a few hundred more and get something amazing
  5. BUMP - Sundays approaching will be good to see you all there
  6. I got one off 1 day bad mistake haha! it ripped while i was pulling it tight to put it on. unknowen brand. Recently I have been to supercheap and got one which i have linked below. its not water proof but it has held up to all wind this season has thrown and isn't a harsh material. http://www.supercheapauto.co.nz/Product/CoverALL-Car-Cover-Silver-Protection-Water-Resistant-Suits-Medium-Vehicles/375472 Apparently the sparco ones on trademe are good as well
  7. @THUNDA Cheers for your input and as mentioned above I have a 6 speed so may as well use it! I drive the car once a month on average so not to worried about how it performs on the street. I think I should just bite the bullet and save a bit extra for a nice setup even the Holset Boon has up for grabs
  8. When you are talking of Chinese turbos are you speaking of a particular brand? are they still quite laggy? The Holset would look nice haha! you are rite though i am nervous to buy a turbo like a holset that pumps out big power but has big lag and find i dont like driving it any more.
  9. Just tried to message you but it wont let me flick me a message if you can. keen to know when yours spools by and what the turbo is. this isn't something i am going to get and chuck on straight away so don't mind piecing together a kit. Just read the FS thread and that answered all of my questions ha ha. food for thought
  10. Nah i don't have a front mount ha ha plus yours may take a bit to get it put in etc? I am just thinking of getting an easy application that doesn't run out of puff after 6,000 rpms Is there even another VF turbo that will hold power in higher RPMs?
  11. Yeah I was thinking its quite high but then as @Pappu1 mentioned he has got 300kw from a td06 so could work? I recall someone on here had a Kinugawa td05 20g and make about 225 - 230kw but unsure who it was. I just want something that doesn't involve twisting and can give me 250kw haha I will be happy
  12. So for the TD05 with billet upgrade from Driven performance its 1750 and the possum bourne turbo is 1850.. so not a lot in difference Where can you source them from for 1,100
  13. This was my thinking! I am from Wellington but they are happy to post down to me. Price difference if pretty much bang on with the Kinugawa so its sort of a given to lean towards the PBMS one. I think they they have dyno proven results from their turbos is another great reason. would love to know if someone here has run one. I didn't tell them I was a CS member (unsure if there are any discounted rates?)
  14. Hi all, I have been wanting slightly more punch than my VF30 can pack on my V7 wrx sti. so have been looking at some bolt on options that are reasonably priced, I know how some of you feel around a stock location turbo however I think in my case I am not chasing massive power would just like a bit more punch than 210kw and something that holds power to the higher RPM range. I have been speaking with Patrick from Possum Bourne briefly around their Hybrid TD05 that they do and by the sounds of it you can achieve up to 275kw range and it spools like a VF while holding power AND has a good price tag. Has anyone had any personal experience with these? or could point me in a good direction. I know they have a really good reputation on here which is making me lean towards this over a Kinugawa or Tomei application. TIA
  15. Hey mate, Sounds like you have some nice things planned! to give you an idea my V7 sti made 210kw with just a 3" exhaust and reflash on the stock ECU so achieving that power shouldn't be too much of a stretch. I think some form of turbo which the guys on here will help you with, the exhaust, injectors and a tune would be sufficient as long as the engine is in good order. Looking forward to your progress
  16. I have got BC Reds and they are fine for entry level on the track and great for street driving. Would definitely recommend them
  17. Still there mate! see you then Awesome! see you then Awesome bro, tried to add you to the facebook even however it says I cant invite you
  18. i have my wiper and whole unit in the bin if you want me to fish it out
  19. Put a rear wiper delete in that i got off ebay, seems to fit nicely! and put my high stop light in / made seat belts retract and got a fresh warrent
  20. far out man i had my old ute stolen and it sucks. really hope that having the number plate of the other car leads to your recovery.
  21. Hey mate, If you are planning on doing modifications to it I would grab the Forester just because Subaru's are the best ha ha However for your purpose of driving a lot and taking clients around you probably would like something that is quite nice on the inside and you can modify a bit without it being super loud etc. If placed in your situation I would get the Euro R accord. my close mate had one he got 800kms to a tank driving nicely. Also they look the part on the outside and the inside is quite nice to. He had an intake headers and exhaust and think CDM tuned it to approx 170kw atw. I LOVE honda's though so may be overlooking the GTI they are also nice haha.
  22. I will be there, getting it ready for the track again. Bugeye wrx
