  1. Slight detour for me on the way today home... Old: Richardson Road New:
  2. Not far off. Looks like it. Probably picked up on the way back from Whangarei the other week.
  3. After a week in the panel beaters following an altercation with a possum, the car came back as good as new and they even fixed up a few stone chips on the bumper (Subaru paint is cr@p). Decided to invest in some paint protection film and about to pull the trigger when I notice this... Two nasty gouges which now require a bonnet respray Need to do that before I get the film applied. Damn it.
  4. Technically speaking, mine wasn't delivered. Saw it in the showroom, test drove it, liked it and picked it up
  5. Currently working up in Whangarei at the moment. Had the sfternoon off so went for a spin out iinto the countryside some 30min north along a few perfect STi roads...
  6. Nice to know you can still pull the birds in the Subbie
  7. On the North Shore in AKL.... Private plate MCL P1. Made the boxer rumble on my STi sound rather pathetic And yes, that is another STi in the background. I also parked next to a nice HyperBlue WRX.
  8. Yes, the exhust gasses will quickly expand after the tubo but will then hit the 'constriction' which will affect velocity before they expand again. I would expect that to have an effect on flow and therefore performance. Granted it may be minimal, but would sfill be there?
  9. Happy to be corrected, but I always thought that any restriction after the turbo had the potential to affect velocity of gasses which can reduce spool up time.
  10. Not ideal as you say. I'd be worried as to the flow would be affected.
  11. I'll check them out. Thanks.
  12. Suprised a topic for this company hasn't already been started Used Subirex last week for the first time to fit some braided brake lines and change of brake fluid on my 2016 STi. All I can do is praise AJ for the excellent work that he carried out. Very knowledgable chap and took his time to talk me through any questions I had etc. While my car may still be under factory warranty, I will have no hesitation to use them again for any other work/mods. 10/10. http://www.subirex.co.nz/
  13. While I like the sunroof in my Premium model, I don't think I've ever get one retro fitted. I can't imagine it being cheap and then you'd need all the electrics to go with it along with a new headlining. And, as you say, a high risk of leaking. IMHO, best option would be to fit some monsoon strips to the windows and wind them down a little to keep the air flowing throgh the cabin. Much cheaper in the long run.
  14. First scheduled service on the STi today by Winger Greenlane..
  15. How good is the film where it is in place?
  16. Anyone had any experience with any of the paint chip films available on the market? Just thinking it miht be a worthwhile investment for the front bumper at least?
  17. Slight delay as they were waiting on Subaru to deliver a new front lip. Steve Nuich Panel Beaters have done an awesome job and I highly recommend them (also fixed my wife's car after some lowlife bedly dented the door on her 5 month old Jeep ). Car is better than before as they've also tidied up a few small stone chips And no extra ks on the clock so they totally respectful of the car as well as professional. Random Q. As well as the Tiida, I also had a Wingroad for a couple of hours this morning while they fitted the splitter. Both were autos but neither had any form of engine temp gauge. Is this common on auto's these days?
  18. Goodridge braided hoses with Motul 660 fluid. Can't upload photos of rear as having some photobucket issues Huge thanks to AJ @Subirex Automotive for doing the work. Top bloke and it's no wonder he comes so highly recommended PB working again intermittently, but will start using IMGUR in th future now I've just created an account. Here ar the two pics from the rear...
  19. Currently in the customer lounge at Subirex and good news from AJ is the hoses will fit. The fronts are slighty different with a more acutely angled banjo join, but nothing that will cause any issues. Time for a few more levels of Angry Birds while AJ does the hard work
  20. Can't do anything about it now so will have to wait as you suggest. You never know....
  21. Evidence elsewhere backs that up too. Dammit! Looks like I have a brand new set of braided hoses for sale if anyone is interested...
  22. Ordered a set of Goodgridge braided hoses from a US seller on eBay. Described as 'Goodridge 24218 08-14 Subaru WRX & STI Brake Line Kit'. Advice indicated they will fit a MY16 . I am now confused as they arrived but state on the box they are for "Subaru WRX & STi w/Sumito calipers" (part No is still 24218). Obviously, I have Brembos fitted, not Sumitos so I am confused as to whether I have the correct lines now. My car is still at the body shop having its bumper repaired so can't check. Any ideas?
