I took a gamble. I think it will work out ok once I get some decent mufflers on there. If not I'll chuck a resonator in and see what that does

Issue in what way? Im not opposed to there being an increase in volume, but are you more talking about droning and tinny sounds?
Tinny as F*** as soon as you put your foot down even the slightest. Sorry I should have made that a little more clear.

It will help to a point but I think the main issue is the stock mufflers. You should get some muffler delete pipes made and try those first

I had my centre muffler deleted recently. Sounds like ass with the stock mufflers. Out of curiosity I put my muffler delete pipes on and it's unbearably loud (Sounds F***ing cool) but far too obnoxious. So now I have the stock mufflers back on until I find some replacements. May have to chuck in a resonator too depending what mufflers I go for.

Followed the internet's advise on intercooler piping popping out of silicon joints and used $6 worth of hair spray... ...very skeptical about this
Can you enlarge the bead on the piping?

Get vtd trans. Remove centre diff. Weld up. Remove front shafts and fit stubs. Done
Google tells me the 5eat transmissions are vtd. Is that right?
Edit: Some good info in here http://legacygt.com/forums/showthread.php/explanation-continuous-active-and-vtd-awd-systems-honest-attempt-48112.html

The rears on mine weren't bad... used a mate and a jack to make things a little smoother.
I also made some cuts in the carpet around the top hats so I could get in there nice and easy

Use a 5 side impact socket when doing the hub bolts - will save you from rounding them
