  3. Dumb question: red light on the sti cluster (V7) is it shifter light? When I hit 6.2k it beeps and lights up...... Can it be changed?
  4. Gave it a cut and polish.... Finally got all the unwanted stickers/marks of the back
  5. i did my bug HID lights yesterday- I used the turtle wax restoration kit $30..... Came out really well and my lights were hazy as hell!
  6. Restored the headlights and "tried" to debadge the boot..... Anyone got any tips to remove that crap the letters leave behind?

  10. As title states what they differences in the engines? Twin Scroll? Pro's Con's? Why do a lot of V8/V9 have rebuilds? or is that just the nature of STI's after XX number of years? Also can cruise control be retro fitted to a V9? Cheers
  11. Not bothered just wanted to know if its working properly, the car isnt for thrashing! LOL its functional i.e. towing the race car to the track and family camping trips! ;D
  12. Update- Got the car back, all seems well (Fingers crossed) new engine has 100k on it so should be ok..... The engine bay smoked a little after the first run and i was like FFS but it seems it was just oil from the rebuild on the block burning off, but just sometimes i smell a whiff of oil burning.....sounds ominous i know! The other thing is im not sure if its boosting right though... hard to tell seems to lag between primary and secondary kicking in, no smoke, whines, rattles or knocks but just seems to fade from primary then pull ok once past 5k rpm on secondary boost leak? BBOD? or is it just manual gtb's? LOL The cable in the boot that opens the exhaust has snapped will that cause it? cheers

  16. Hey, I have been searching through all the legacy threads etc what the F is the BBOD aka black box of doom? Also the actuator that opens when the secondary turbo spools is seized and i want to replace the rear muffler with an after market one, can i just remove this whole thing? with no after effects? Cheers ;D

  18. I bought a euro (Golf) to build as a lightweight race car but its de reg, if i build it can i still use it on the track? what issues will i face? do i just get a authority card? What are the requirements of puke?Hamptons? etc this car is just a pure race car not road at all..

  20. He said the fram oil filter is knackered, as he changed the oil and filter he has pressure tested another engine with this filter and it was causingoil starvation and it went...... Dunno how true but soon see what the new engine goes like!
  21. Big end No.4 gone He is replacing the block at his cost good effort, will have it back in a week
