If your exhaust doesn't have scrapes - your doing it wrong 😁

I used group n mounts. They definitly added a decent amount of vibration when idling. Fine when driving tho.
Apparently poly bushes need to be regressed after a while - i could be wrong tho.
I would go for uprated whiteline rubber bushes personally.

I feel much more heatsoak after sitting in slow traffic than after pulls. With pulls at least there is decent airflow though the intercooler.
Heat soak is mostly just annoying because it feels slower than normal. Your just getting less boost due to higher temps. If the motor ist happy it has ways of dealing with it such as pulling timing.
They always feel great on a cool winters night haha.

However far apart the traffic lights are is the correct answer 😄
Nah I'm sure someone has done some data logging on this for how long IATs get back to normal but I wouldn't worry about it. If it feels slow then it's heat soaked and you can tell.

If we pay money can i get rid of the adds on the forum ?
Can anyone state at what hp/ boost a vf 22 runs out of inlet or exhaust flow ? Itll do 300 hp and almost 20 psi wont it
Not a fan of back pressure
Vf22 on a v3 and tdo5 on a legacy rs is my idea of appropriate turbo sizing
Will buy a lightening flywheel and metallic clutch if someone has a brand name one lying around thats still got some life
VF22 can run at about 22-23 psi and depending on engine health 270-300hp tops if your running 98 octane. Pretty sure thats accurate.
Edit: I use Flickr for uploading photos, works well.

Awesome.
Unfortunately Sundays rarely work for me but with some luck I'll be able to join in briefly.

Are v7 wrx hubs, wheel bearings etc identical to the v7 Sti ones?

Chiming in via sound - they sound wicked with Equal length headers. still has the rumble at idle but sound like an imbred evo/wrx on boost its wild. regret not getting them but will look into it shortly once I make up my mind on selling or not haha
Yeah I can't wait. Have been listening to some clips including @Lorens car and they definitly sound great. I also have rcm/samco turbo inlet and intake so should get some nice spool nose too.

Yeah I have the turbo and few other bits however ill install that just before the tune. Then the tuner will install link ecu and injectors on the dyno.
I would have guessed even pulses would beat having the slightly shorter pipes on two cylinders in terms of spool and power.

Don't boost it without a dyno check first... you don't know for sure that it won't knock, and that will kill your motor within the blink of an eye.
Even with just new EL headers?

Should be a good test then.
Maybe a twin scroll will be my next turbo if this one ever gets boring😄

Theoretically there shouldn't be any issue as your total flow is still limited by the factory turbo. if anything the engine should run a little healthier as they've got individual runners a lot further from the port.
I wouldn't worry about driving it before the tune, just don't be a savage on it incase it does introduce a significant change to your engine.
Ok. Should definitely be more knock resistant due to equal cylinder Temps etc. Mainly want to see the spool difference so I don't need to go too hard on it to find out. I'm very interested to see what difference it makes.
-
I'm interested to compare equal length vs unequal on stock turbo with no other changes so would it be safe driving it for a few days without a tune touch up?
Then I can do turbo etc just before the tune.
-
Still wating for response about buying the twinscroll-single scroll uppipe but If I have to get one custom made up I doubt ill have time before the tune. Unless there's any aftermarket options already available?

Yeah, you could reach out to GCG turbo in AUS, as they could make one, but you could say goodbye to north of 3k
Otherwise, you could find a blown legacy twinscroll turbo, send it to murch and be like "I want power plz" and he'll build you a new turbo.
Haha yeah. Unfortunately I already have a new turbo-care single scroll td05 18g sitting here. If I knew I would have gotten a TS turbo to begin with. Not too worried tho

I'm willing to bet you got Legacy ones. Which aren't bad.
I can sell you a twinscroll to singlescroll up-pipe if you'd like. That's $150 but you'll spend 5x as much getting one made or twisted.Okay. I'll pm you.
Another option would be to get a twin scroll exhaust housing but I talked to turbo care who said there are no good ones out there that are any good.

I found an auction on trademe for the following gear: Equal length twin scroll headers, uppipe, oil sump, pickup and dipstick. Only costed me $300 so its relatively low risk if I don't like it.
What's the best way to go about modifying uppile to suit my single scroll turbo?

Looks more like oil pooling in one of the heads and pouring out of the breather, right into you turbo. Did you go to Manfeild before the catch can went in?
Okay.
Not unless previous owner took it there.

Took my turbo off today and found this black stuff. Its pretty dry but will come off with some encouragement, I was able to scoop some out of the bottom of the turbo inlet pipe. I have had a catch tank for a about 6 months so am I correct to assume this is just old blowby? Car has done low kms, in good health and was running close to 23psi. This doesnt look normal tho.
Thankfully I have a new turbo and turbo inlet

I mean, fair enough. I run a V7 STi engine in my Type RA with STi twinscroll headers. Sounds absolutely wild when on boost.
As for twinscroll vs single, twinscroll really does come on earlier and feels nicer throughout the range imho.Worth the upgrade.
It might be my next mod. Not in a hurry unless I can find some cheaply somewhere.
There is a v9 sti headers, uppipe, vf37 turbo only done 70000kms on trademe for 1.2k. I could sell the turbo for 600 plus buy sump and pickup etc plus uppipe modification. Its still close to 1k tho. If I can do it for under 700 I'd consider it.

Can't be bothered spending anymore money at this stage so I'm going to attempt to port the exhaust manifold and uppipe. A lot of people claim decent results for spool.
No point taking much material off as everything lines up pretty well already and im not porting the heads.Just gonna remove casting marks and smooth it out. I'll also port uppipe to match the slightly larger td05 to make a smooth transition.
I have my doubts it will do much but we shall see.
Got my makita die grinder and drill attachments ready to go.

This sounds decent

Okay. Subaru EL headers definitly way cheaper then a good set of aftermarket ones and won't crack. So the twin scroll uppipe must be able to bolt onto single scroll turbos?
I might look into this. My tune and everything is still a month away.

Probably can't get genuine ones atm. I bet car dealers are closed.
Repco and supercheap are open for 'essential' stuff. If you order what you need and tell them you need the car on the road for essential travel, maybe they will courier it to you. They aren't genuine quality but if done right, they should last long enough.
