late last year i sold my 1996 wrx v2 for 8g. So either a)you have a ****ter or b)you arent prepared to wait until the right buyer comes along. I saw a few STis around for not much more than that at the time. I agree with DPI. The money difference between the two is not that much.....and the cost to improve your performance to anywhere close to STi level will cost almost as much. I reckon you could upgrade to an STi of equivalent year for like 2.5G all up. Well worth it when you consider all the kit you get.

STi or GTFO? LOL just kidding. I just think for the sake of a couple of grand its definately worth buying the STi. Not even taking into account resale.

Id say STis are as common as WRXs on the roads to be honest. Id suggest saving a bit of extra coin and buying an STi also, to be honest. Fair point about possibly needing an engine toughen up at some point, but there is so much more than just the forged engine that differentiates a STi from a WRX. For like a couple of grand more its well worth it.

this is a completely retarded question. all of the big electronics brands generally make thier items in china. is the quality bad due to this? no. Its because its a crappy company that has less stringent quality controls. Go to shenzhen china, you will find pretty much every major brand in the world with factories there even your precious apple computers!!!!!!

if it is a wrx or sti it will have been raped. its finding the ones that have been well serviced whilst being raped that is the key. Please do not take advice from shale with regards to buying a WRX or STi as she has never owned one. Thats all i will say on the matter. You will be able to pick up a decent STi for 9k but it will potentially require lots of time and shopping around. I would actually advise you to save up a little more and purchase a really nice example. Sans was selling for 9k as he really wanted a particulr car in a hurry and I dont think he would let it go for anywhere near that if he was selling with time on his side.
