  1. Drove mine to uni and back and discovered how shit kingstars are in the wet, fun times haha. I'm only running them until I can be bothered putting my 17's back on though
  2. Fixed the damaged skirt on the front of my Legacy which had been annoying me since I bought it. Went from this: After some sanding: To this: Good as new: Took me about 15min and didn't cost me anything as I borrowed some of this bumper paint from my old man:
  3. Courier drivers' trailer hit my car at work today after it was blown by the wind. No dings but the paint is all cracked on corner of the front bumper. If I try to claim insurance it could get messy though
  4. It's a bit hard to pick up in the video (mic on camera is useless) so you might have to turn the volume up a bit to hear it
  5. My Legacy has started to make a weird squeaking/whining noise when decelerating in both 3rd and 4th gear. It sounds as if it's coming from the gearbox or centre diff? I uploaded a video on YouTube as it's hard to explain: It also jolts and makes a clunking noise when accelerating (which you can hear near the end of the video) and decelerating. I suspect this is due to worn diff bushes or a gear box mount? And... one more thing! Unless you rev match, it makes a whirring noise going from 3rd into 2nd which you can also hear in the video at 0:55 and at 2.28. It has being doing this ever since I bought the car. Is this due to worn syncros? Any advice would be appreciated! Cheers
  6. About $50 incl shipping. In hindsight I shouldn't have bought them because I'm thinking about selling the TS-R soon.. there is a mint gt on trade me that I want, if only I could sell my car in time to buy it!
  7. The clear side indicators I paid for 3 weeks ago finally arrived so I put them on my TS-R, look much better than the orange ones
  8. Took the legacy to get a warrant and they failed it on a crack in the windscreen which hasn't changed in size since they passed it 6 months ago...
  9. Had a pressure test etc done today, looks like a leaking head gasket, not happy
  10. Any performance gains will be minimal, so if that's what you're after then no, it isn't really worth it. They can sound quite good with a nice exhaust on them though, so if that's what you're after I would recommend getting a 2.25 or 2.5" system from the cat converter back with a resonator and a decent muffler. I have a fujitsubo muffler on mine which sounds nice but isn't very loud. If you want it to be reasonably loud then any cannon or straight through muffler should do the trick.
  11. Checked coolant/water level in the legacy this arvo and didn't see much coolant in there at all (well below the low mark). It was topped up a week ago too for the same reason. Car drives fine, temp gauge reads no different than usual and oil is fine. I haven't noticed any leaks either but I'll take a closer look tomorrow, hopefully it's nothing serious.
  12. Yeah pretty much what I figured haha. No, don't have any of it, need more info about the conversion first before I start spending money on it

I found it yesterday arvo, didn't have your picture with me though so was just going from memory. On homestead lane with Ilam road in the background
  14. Cheers for the reply. I know it's not cheap, especially when you factor in upgrading the brakes and gearbox and getting it certified. I have my reasons for wanting to do this rather than upgrading to a BH or another car. If it's much cheaper to wire in the factory EZ30D ecu than it is to buy and install a Link then I will go down that route. The problem is that not many people have documented a conversion like this so there isn't much info out there.
  15. I’m looking into putting an EZ30 in my BG Legacy in the next few months. My budget will almost rule out an EZ30R conversion so my idea is to use an EZ30D instead as it would be a simpler swap. I have a few questions: 1. How difficult would it be to use the factory EZ30D ECU? i.e what would be involved in wiring it in? 2. What options are there for wire in ECU’s? Since the EZ30D is simpler than the EZ30R (no AVCS etc), would a G4 storm run it without any problems? Are there any cheaper alternatives? 3. How much does it typically cost to get an aftermarket ecu installed and tuned? 4. Which ever way I go it will have to be done by someone who knows what they're doing, so keeping this in mind which is the best/cheapest way to go – factory ecu or a wire in? Any info would be great Cheers.
  16. Did you buy it from Stadium Cars? If so, I went and had a look at it the other week, looked very tidy
  17. Check out this post: http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,17057.msg238748.html#new When I get an alarm it will probably be an AVS one, have heard good things about them
  18. What type of tein springs are they? S-techs? I paid about $600 for the wheels with near new Bridgestone MY01's on them
  19. Bilsteins are in Before: After: I'm stoked with the improvement in handling. Next on the list is sway bars from a GTB if they fit, and then some lowering springs (would like some H&R's)
  20. Would love some, but I would have to get them shipped over from Japan, and they aren't cheap
  21. No lowering springs yet, wanted to see what the standard springs were like first. With the Bilstiens it's sitting a bit lower at the back, front is about the same though. Just took it for a drive with the Bilsteins in and they are a lot firmer, big improvement over the standard shocks. Stoked
  22. Got it sorted now, cheers Solja
  23. Hey, Just bought some GTB Bilsteins and want to fit them to my TSR. I would give this a go myself but don't have all the tools (don't have jack stands for a start), so was wondering if anyone in the CHCH area would be keen to help me fit them in exchange for cash/beer/bourbon and cokes? Was hoping to fit them before the Grasskhana tomorrow but that might be pushing it. Would be much appreciated Cheers
