  1. What DRFVDR said. Turbo timers on road cars not necessary.
  2. Haha.Power bands. That question takes me back to when i had a motorcycle shop and we used to get young fella's coming in to buy a power band for their xl 185's so they could keep up with their mate's pe175's. Good question though..Does usually refer to two strokes power delivery.
  3. I would go for the blue one.Has been serviced by franchised dealer and seems to be pretty mint. Blue really suits the v7. Price is ono but not negotiable...odd.
  4. Old school cars should be warmed up a bit before driving as they tend to hesitate when cold. Modern engines are so refined they can be driven after a few seconds running with out problems. Never boost your turbo until the temp gauge is showing operating temp. Fyi...Oil takes 30 minutes to get to its optimum temp...
  5. Lock up the dccd and it will climb anywhere.
  6. Have you got the bill for fixing the power pole yet?
  7. Swapped out HKS adjustable suspension and replaced with as new stock shocks that came in to the country in the boot of an import with adjusties on it.Fitted with super low king springs and it sits just right.Ride is much more comfortable as you would expect but have lost the gokart stiff feel. Got new WOF and 12 months rego..steering rack boot and exhaust crack welded. So gave it a good clean and vacuumed out the inside for the first time in a year! All good and looks and drives like a new car, makes me very happy. ;D :-*
  8. My coupe makes similar noises when turning at slow speeds, carparks etc. It seems that its not uncommon and something you have to live with.
  9. Could be a roller bearing squelling.Posibly timing belt idler bearing or alternator bearing.?
  10. Nice car. 1000 wrx type RA were released on the japanese market in november 1999.( Non STI) They came with 6 spoke RAYS mags from factory. Quoted from "Impreza" by Brian Young.
  11. Trademe #356749745..$350...no bids...closes tomorrow.Offer him $300.
  12. Interesting but what is the relevance in comparing a run of the mill vf23 worth $200-$300 to a gt3071 at $2200.
  13. Strut braces work in compression so lateral flex isnt a measure of there efficiency i would think.
  14. These are the same seatsas my v2 wrx waggon had.Could be standard in v1 & v2 waggons? They are buckets by the way.
  15. Carefull that you dont cross thread the seat mount bolts when you put them back in .
  16. Could be a bit over priced but a very nice car. As an example i payed a similar price for a v4 1998 coupe with 128ks a year ago.So maybe more like $9.5 to $10 k. Having said that there is a buyer out there and its just a matter of waiting til they come along.
  17. Have you seen that figure on a dyno ?
  18. Factory figures are at flywheel. I think he wants 220-230 kw at wheels.
  19. Blazd...Check out imprezza garage, page three"Project STI-TypeR..Theres a few pages about my car. Funky..Could be the lean causing smoke on first boost but it does clean out after a good thrash.Hope to make it to MM but depends on my golfing commitments. Cheers.
  20. Thanks guys. The vf23 is still going strong even though its on quite a lean.Doesnt seem to have affected it in any way. Got 180kw at the dyno day at keith stewarts so seems to be performing as expected. I do have a mint vf22 in reserve just in case though.
  21. Hi mike.Cars going good,it smokes a bit after its been driven around town without being on boost but it cleans out after a few k's. Not using any oil and its a bit overfull so all good. Looking forward to getting out on the track but might wait for the cooler weather to arrive as this heatwave stuff we are getting isnt that great for turbo subaru's it seems. Love every minute driving the coupe as they are a pretty nice ride.
