  1. I wonder if that came from brad about me? lol
  2. Hey, the issues you will have is -Swapping the throttle body from drive-by-wire to cable, i just got a falcon throttle body from a wreckers and welded up some ports and machined it a lil - Exhaust, this can either be a cheap quappy job or a decent waste your money adventure - Radiator and FANS!!, depending on what it is going into, the radiator you are more likely to fit in there is the radiator from a BH5 GT30/BE5 RS30. Finding fans is a prick becasue of the lack of room, i ended up using a STi A/C fan and running it backwards (harder than it sounds as it is a variable speed one) - ECU, you pretty much have to go aftermarket, and your only options there are a Link G4 Extreame or a Motec M800. Either way its goign to hurt your bank account After i finished mine (which i got my motor for $1400, which was a steal) it cost me $7k If you have any questions just pester me, iv got no qualms
  3. What camera have you got Reub's? When it comes to photography, i must admit you get some freaking awsome shots most of the time that some pilick like me will never have an eye for
  4. Koom, The reason why you agree with me is because i am teh shizzle. BTW, the other option is always a EZ30, no turbo lag and they make it sound WAY better!!! Best place to pick up a VF24 would either be tardme or on a forum. You could get one from a wreckers but you will get your pants pulled down for essentially the same thing. Or you could get one new from wingers or an online store but then you will have a rather noticable jump in price Be aware if you get a turbo from tardme or a forum that you check the shaft play, if they move in or out or off centre they are definitly poked.
  5. I know, but i dont hate myself that much to put that one up....
  6. Id put a vf24 as they are easy to find and they spool up quick to get the heavy wagon moving asap
  7. I dont think iv post whored on this thread yet but this is my gtb.
  8. As mentioned above, 1uzfe's arent the greatest power horse's. the only way this is going to be beneficial with a 1uzfe is by getting one of the vvti versions and droping that in, otherwise the 1uzfe's arent anything to write home about. If you still want to put a v8 in it, go get a nissan vk41 or vk45, they are the dog's balls, that would be what i would call bang for buck. If you do go with the 1uzfe, can you for me put individual throttle bodies and bell mouths off them and make it sound like an old skool ferrari, that would get my appraisal
  9. Yes, i went through a primary pretty quick removing all cats and just having a muffler and two resonators from the turbos back, but it went WAY harder. If it was me i would easily do it again because changing a primary turbo takes sweet f#$% all anyway and you can usually get them cheap as chip's so DO IT!!!!
  10. I can safely say that my gtb didn't have that on the exhaust. WTF is a good comment!!!
  11. Lol, so we do. I also note that your from the tron too... haha. Sucks to be us
  12. Dog gears in a street car would suck harder than someone trying to crash start a leaf blower. When every you arent under power and driving at a constant speed it sounds like a bucket of bolts is been thrown around in your gear box. Not to mention putting it in gear is alot less than ideal at the traffic lights.... crouch, hold, lean, engage....
  13. If you want to get gains out of it. The biggest issue you that will get power out of your "standard setup" will be the resrictions due to the intake and exhaust. If you remove cats out of your exhaust you will reduce your lag and spool time, plus freeing up your down pipe especially will give you alittle more boost in the primary, when i did mine i think i gained about and extra 2-3 psi in the primary turbo region. And i definitly made heaps of gains from removing all of my cats. In saying that, my last cat was poked and i would have been better off having a potato stuck up my exhaust. Otherwise, anything you can do to get more, colder and smoother airflow (remembering you cant removing your afm without going to an aftermarket ecu) will benfit you aswell. My personal preference is i would rather spend the money on a single turbo setup which you coudl do pretty cheap, and you will get WAY more bang for buck out of that than anythign you will be doing to the sequential twin turbo setup
  14. Hey palwow, What height difference did you have with putting those seats in? When i put my V8 Sti seats in im now sitting about 1 1/2" higher than what i was in my standard gtb seats.
  15. Im guessing that you are doing it for performance gains, not for wank factor then. If you want to get more performance, what have you done already? Have you removed the cat that is on the downpipe on the primary turbo?
  16. Guts, iv a got a Pioneer 6850, i wouldnt mind getting a new one that doesnt have those issues
  17. I havent read this post so feel free to abuse me if someone has already covered this. I have a Pioneer head unit that controls the ipod through the head unit. Things that i wish it did that it doesnt -Allow you to change songs using the actual iPod, when you have 90gb of music on your iPod, scrolling through artists using the dial on the head unit takes for f#cking ever. -When you control the iPod completly throught the head unit, then start playing a song you have selected by going artist -> album -> song. Then decide you want to pick another song from that album, it doesnt remember the last place it was in the library and you have to select an artist, then album all over again. Which is a pain when you have a truck load of songs. So if you are in the market of getting one go find one that doesnt have those niggly issues.
  18. No, that motor ate a piston because the original motor got sh!tty with me treating it like a "princess" everyday
  19. Im a member of this club too now that i think about it My old car from about 5 years ago... 1997 Honda Accord SIR 307000km BEB went due to EXTREAME thrashing due to driving up the porthills alittle to much with everyones DH bikes on the back... lol
  20. You need more displacement if you dont want to change your turbo size, i would agree with Koom and put a dirty v8 in it Or a rotary... jk
  21. Your not too old for me Jared, il still have you lol
  22. Not getting into this argument now, but most people that are idiots are because of their attitudes whilst driving, not their skills. The reason that the finnish arent luney's are because they are really calm and their culture is different to ours, they arent so loud. Id be keen, in a few more months in the middle of waikato my olds have a farm which is half maize, and the maize is going to be cut, all 147 acres of it
  23. Are you still using an alarm with you turbo timer? If you are there are a few different ways of wiring it up. Also, make sure you have it so when the turbo timer is going but car is turned off that your rad fan still works, there is nothing gheyer than your car overheating on the turbo timer. If you need a new alarm the club's sponsers are AVS alarms and we get a decent dicount on alarms thorugh them that have turbo timers built into them, which saves a heap of dicking about
