  2. ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D :D ;D ;D ;D ;D :D ;D ;D ;D :D you my freind are awesome!!!!!! Joker - find a lovely picture for this fantastics effort. def MUPPET of the week... tops mate!
  3. point #1 I have just got home for my real job... to this. what a disappointment. as just a member speaking things are looking pretty pathetic. point #2 I know lots of people dont know me, and have issues with me as head admin. I want only the best for the club - truely. Not everyone is going to know everyone. Please dont get defensive about me holding the position i do, at AGM time you can get rid of me and do what you like. Vote me in and i might stay - again, all in your hands there. In the mean time i can only try to get it right. point #3 I am not at my computer 24/7 nor is any other admin or mod. I spend an unhealthy amount of time on here as it is, but sometimes i am not here (like tonight 26/03) as i was playing netball. Yes i have a real life to. point #4 types of posting at the moment.. is just UNACCEPTABLE. I have a little 13 yo sister and she could post with more maturity than some of the stuff I've seen. point #5 I am going to be removing a lot more posts about the place. This relates to point #4 (show maturity) and #3 (when i am around) point #6 The moderation has been inconsistant lately. Im working on the framework to make this better. And also to explain to everyone else how the system works. point #7 Warnings past - I am happy to deal with this on a personal basis. I can see how many points you were given, and who it was given by. PLEASE NOTE: i can not see what posts these were in relation to generaly and the emails sent out are generally unhelpful (I'm changing this to btw). point #8 Deleted posts - at the moment so many posts are having to be moderated (or deleted) in my opinion its just not feasible to PM every user saying so. It really just takes some common sense people, say swear words pointed at someone else, or rude or inappropriate stuff, its generally going to be deleted. Once things calm down we wont have to delete as many and we can be more personal. point #9 Myself and the mod team want the best for the club. Truely. We are humam though, like all of you and therefore we dont like to be attacked or made fun of either. Remember its just one of us and nearly 1000 of you now.. thats an unfair fight. You need to try to understand or try to organise something - and see how hard it is... it truely takes a lot of pateince to do the work the team does. -------------------------------------------------------- The new modding procedure is coming tomorrow, I have to cut this short because now i have an angry partner because I'm dealing with this(yes in real life). Please try to calm down once things are live again, its not helping anything. I know some want less modding, some want more, and I've gone with more, but fairer. Tomorrow is a new day. AGM time is not far away so my fate is sealed one way or the other. Until then i am expecting a harder line of modding, we shouldnt have to but there is to much rubbish going on right now to ignore. I would love to go a whole day and not have to mod any posts at all... really. Have a nice evening all, please add me to msn and i'll give you some time to chat as much as i can afford to. [email protected] Thats all for now Jon aka Funky
  4. like... holy crap batman...!!! ??? ??? ??? go buy yourself a scratchy from the lotto shop
  5. any mention of exhaust? or stock...? Pictures or a link?
  6. dont get a 3" through the middle.. I have a 3" down pipe and it was 3" to the rear axle.. now its 2"5, it was just waaay to loud and made no noticable difference when i down sized. The tip (or canon) has as much to do with how loud it is as anything.. go along to a club meet and have a listen to what people have and make up your own mind.
  7. every man is plyable with whiskey and or beer
  8. i would tend to think one is version 3 or 4, probably yours. and the other is probably a version 5/6. there is a chart in here somewhere showing the ecus mapped by year. If they are indeed different versions you need a version 3/4 ecu. Mine was a 97 STI and it had a 6S (3plug)
  9. there is lots of school of thought as to whether a VF series 22/23/30/36/38 or a TDO5 or a TD05/06 combo or a modified VF series.. each to there own in the end.. you will get a swag on either side and then those that say go for something like a Garrett or other aftermarket each with valid opinions go to an engine builder and nut it out. (currently what im doing as my engine is poked) I would recommend Ichi ban (on the forums here) and they will give you there opinion and match a turbo to your engine and and driving requirements. I wont post my own thoughts.. prefer to sit on the fence for this one. Im happy to PM you my thoughts if you like dubbedup, these are only IMO as most other posts in here.
  10. think a standard STI replacement will do the goods, capable of taking more grunt from the engine and is not a part i need to throw money at.. have a replacement sti number in my GTB and i liked it.. Its the engine and turbo combinations and flavors that dazzle me - thanks rick and also thanks to rick for the countless phone calls to date... descriptions, and options, photos and even the video. Is happy to describe everything along the way thats for sure.
  11. Please be aware that some of you are not correctly addiing users when sending PM's to other users. I have been working to find out what is causing the error and why they are being routed to webmaster@clubsub PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN ENTERING A PERSONS NAME in the "TO:" field. When entering a name if suggests who you want... I think what is happening is that some people are not waiting long enough to click the user the forum suggests, and thus it is routing to me. Please wait to enter the name correctly and wait for it to show up below the To: feild I hope no one sees this as spying on PM's as it is clearly not, it is a fail safe from what i can see to route messages with no to feild to somewhere within clubsub. I have attemped to forward these messages back to users where possible but in some cases i am not able to do so. Thus please be careful
  12. some pictures for general viewing...
  13. yup.. probably staring at a new V8/9 shortblock, a 2L, says 2.5 isnt a good option. Hoping my heads are ok, will see how we go.. Also got to replace my turbo, so looking at options there.. have a poked 23 right now
  14. looking that way.. thinking new short block is going to be the way to go.. did that rebuild include labour, clutch, turbo?
  15. So heres more from rick... new engine time or rebuild...
  16. it gets worse people.. My clutch is munted, needs to be replaced, and spigut bearing seized (sp.) The turbo is also poked - as per popular opinion, has a couple of bent blades and has lots of debris on all blades. turbo has gasket cement of the exhuast side so may have damaged exhuast wheel as well... The up pipe was completely in two peices... or "rooted" as rick said. Has the block out and he tells me its also likely got seized gudion pins(sp.) or nearly done a BEB.. is currently investigating.. this is where i break down and wonder what the hell im going to do.. or how much worse it could get. i think the poll should of been how many Kw's i actually pulled on the dyno and at Taupo... 120 i think would have been very generous...
  17. please dont burn me... but i have done, * full exhaust, with 3inch front pipe * new intake from the turbo under the manifold. * link G3 * bigger 550cc injectors (realy just for safety) * new walbro fuel pump (again safety, no direct kw gain) * split fuel rail (for safety) *oil cooler and remote filter (safety) This setup runs a VF23 and stil has the TMIC, and should have been good for about 200-205. Turns out it ran 160 coz my cam belt had jumped. Engine is currently out and problems fixed and also a new: *up pipe *headers are going in, so i should be good for 210-220+ now This all depends of the amount of boost your are running. I'm looking at about 16-18psi. This also depends on the age of your engine as well. as i found out, individual results will always vary, lists of mods can give you a general idea for what you might expect. I'd be surprised that your td'04 would take you all the way to 200kw, but i could be wrong. Be aware also that the WRX block generally cant take as much of a beating as the STI block, which i suspect yours is.
  18. i ermm drove my car back from taupo after racing it.. where it was actually running like ballz.. sorry humor must be lost
  19. and then snapping a crank was just to tease ppl... its almost impossible to snap.. and my car was still running.. i thought it would have been instantly obvious i was egging people on.. perhaps not
  20. this thread was just a little hearted attempt to start with.. look at the options in poll... i think everyone took things to heart a little bit much. Anyone about wellingtin understands the funny nature of my car pulling 160 on the dyno
  21. easy tiger.. not usually many foly up at 2.15 in the morning, its done now
  22. arrrr shit!! thats a long list
