  2. this man speaks truth... my round of minor modding has cost me near double what i thought.. and i thought i had budgetted well... second point i think WRXER missed is that you find little things along the way that you go "oh i mind as well do that while you have easy access to do so mind as well, or little things you discover and its still an "i mind as well while engine is out or in bits or what ever" heed his advice is all i can say ;D

  4. possibly a munter question.. but is the Type R manifold any differernt from an STI manifold? Type R should just run on 440 yellows, same as STI. Based on my noob question above, the Type r manifold is no different and should bolt right on.. type r being V4 onwards. What does (everything included refer too)?
  5. i think gng from V2 to V3 loom is definately required.. .Different plug ECU.. V2 = 4 plug, V3 = 3 Plug. If your gng from V3 WRX ---> V3 STI, you should only need (orange) AFM (Yellow) INJ V3 STI ECU, and a turbo upgrade from the TH04h - ie go to a VF23, VF22, or TH05 (im sure many other VF series fit also) Happy modding

  7. The site is back up now... Please do not be alarmed, nothing was lost or in danger of being lost. The hosting compay was performing several patch upgrades in the backend across all domains they host. All sites using MYSQL or PHP were temporarily unavailable as the patch affected both these modules. The outage was unexpected and unscheduled. Please be reassured that we are performing backups on a regualar basis so had it been a more serious failure we would not have lost vital imformation.   10. Im running 18 * 8 and i wish i could remember offset im my Gf8, and im about 2mm of touching the shock, and about 2mm off touching gaurds.... By pure fluke the fit off old GTB, more room in the GTB for them

    wicked - thanks (that totally wasnt a bait) I figured your post above hinted to your comment just now that injectors and a mild ecu tweak (a full ecu, inj, afm) package would net better gains that just a couple of them.. just getting the info outa ya for leighos to understand

    and by your own admission its down a bit on power compared to the v3's and above eh..? Some minor mods wud fix that - corecct?
  15. you will need to Oranage AFM too.... your green one wont cut it.. and yes all those bits should slot straight in...
  16. im only going off "as best i know".. I have done some googling and cant come up with much.. Why dont you take a standard GTB from 2001 for a test drive. Its something i've not done but would be an interesting experiment.
  17. yup engines are identical.. check your ecu, i havent checked but i suspect this is where the diference lies..

Nup - (and i stand to be corrected) it refers to a slighty better model tune of the GTB's From what i know they have better (less) VOD, and all round engine tune - better turbo ranges etc.. - and the badge. So basically is the same externally - just better engine characteristics, from what i understand

    I think youd be wanting to look at split rail, injectors and AFM also on that set up... Things will start to get unhappy
  20. TD05 should go way better - assume you have supporting mods.. My ecu looks similar altought also has extra (large) rom/cpu chip on it... I cant find any info either

Hi all, I have discovered after removing my ecu to replace with a link thats its none standard.. and inside I has zersports on the front and a large daughter board fixed to the motherboard (obviously).. I cant even find what model it is, but i suspect from my googling that its a Z4... My V3 GF8 went really well with this, i knew the car felt fast, but wasnt sure why.. Mine is a 3 plug however... Any ideaz?
