I'd say there's something up!! I don't hear my tubo kicking in at all..apart from the kick in power! I'm thinking of getting something fitted just to remind me it is a turbo??

Got both harnesses and tried the install today......got some sound, but a lot of feedback & only think I'm getting sound from the front speakers... Still think I need to do something with the factory amp...By Pass??

Hi All, Having read and posted a few threds regarding the replacement of my head unit I had conflicting replies! I have the jap Sat/Nav integrated air con screen installed and a d/din McIntosh head unit below. some people have said the Mcintosh unit could be changed with anything, but others have said it has to be a specific type to keep the uper screen operational (sat/nav-aircon). I've put a deposit down on a Panasonic DVD head unit (pick up today).....Will this deem the above unit, ie air con, useless? Is it just the display that is affected, or is it the whole aircon/fan system... Any input would be very much appreciated. Thanks

Sh#t....I have just paid $$$ for a d/din Panasonic DVD touch screen head unit (with DVD screen).....From the info you have given, does this mean I will lose the Aircon display? Is this not powered directly? Does this mean you lose the whole operation of this function, or just the display?? Be great if someone could respond before tomorrow lunchtime as I've only paid a deposit at the moment and pick it up tomorrow afternoon....

I've just purchased one of the d/din panasonic units identified...... does anyone know if buying the harness would make this installation easy? If not, has anyone else installed one and how easy is it to do as a DIY installation? Would be more than happy just to cut the wires at the back and join the wire with connectors so if anyone can give me the colours of the individual speaker wires this would be very much appreciated! Any idea if you can get NZ maps for these units? Also how do you get the front to flip down????? My screen says it is suitable for DVD? How do you get the TV to work? Maybe I have a slightly different system? Anyway, can I change the bottom (McIntosh head unit with anything? Alot of questions so sorry!

Been looking at a couple of threads on replacing the head units....I have a sat / Nav air con unit and a double din McIntosh CD/Mini disc below. Instead of getting a band expander I was just going to replace the current unit..... Can anyone tell me if the Mcintosh is a standard double din size? or even better supply me with the dimensions before I go out and buy to find out the new one doesn't fit! Cheers

Hi... My RSK has a sat/nav unit installed! It seems to be hard wired for Japan so not much use!! The screen has a DVD compatible sign on it.... Just wondering if I purchase a DVD player will it play the DVD's in NZ, or will it be a different operating system?? I want to change the Double din unit anyway (McIntosh), so may as well get a DVD if possible. Cheers
