  1. Ive been with most companies now. AMI, STATE, NAC, CLIC, the old CHINA insurance. and the best one ive had out of all of them. A Broker! Go see a broker. I went to state they wouldnt even let me finish telling them about my car before they said no. Went to a broker, and hello, state was the one who my policy was with. With my V9, we went with broker again, and CLIC was the one we went with cause we had an under 25 driver on the driver list. We did have to get it valued, which was that bad, as they are underwritten by ING. Being over 25 doesnt do too much with a modified car. My excesses stayed the same and my overall cost came down only about $300. On my "standard" Blitzen with very minor mods, my execess stayed same but my premiums came fown from 1200 to 480 a year.
  2. Most of us have other things to do than do the normal boyracer goings on.
  3. With most cars ive own i would say yes. Yet the most touble ive had with the law reguarding what type of car im driving is when ive been driving my old RX-323 and my 1.8 fwd gen1 legacy vx. Ok so the 323 was a rotary, but the legacy was as far from a boyracer as any boyracer would have wanted to been seen in.
  4. I brought mine (ILVMUF) a few years ago new for $500 now a new one will set you back $750 Its for sale, but i not giving it away. Mot ppl only want to pay around $200 for a used plate.
  5. With bikes, Ive owned 4 bikes, only have a learners, and never had anything under 400cc. '92 GSXR400, '89 ZZR1100, '94 CBR600RR, K4 GSXR1000 So the idea of restricted cars and that wouldnt really work with how our goverment is. Rise the age limit would be the first thing!!!! 15 is far far far to young to drive! This debait has been going on for years, still no answer. Give them a place to go? why should we, get them to get off there ass's and make somthing happin about this. But then they still would use it. Eg: the welly car club which held an event at nite, 200 cars turnd up, only about 7 entered, and the rest just dragged up the motorway for the nite.
  6. Oh well sorted a car out. 2009 RAV4 V6. Wanted the TRD Hulix but they dont make them anymore.
  7. are we talking A grade saloons? stockcars? etc etc
  8. boost does sound a little low, should be up around the .9-1.0bar. But low boost isnt a bad thing in a TT leggy these days. You sound like you have bilstein shocks and STi springs. The springs are lower than factory, but of course they arent that low compared to others. Try some teins, HKS or RS*R springs. And your Genome controller is just for you Defi gauges. It doesnt controller boost what sound ever!!! Just controlls what your alarm set point is. (you be surprise how many ppl on trade me thinks these control boost)
  9. the v8 supercars do about 2g under brakes. F1 cars reach 4g around corners. (they also get upto 2g just by lift off the gas!!) Saw a data logger of a superstock that when backwards off the end of the straight at the palmy teams champs that reach 68g. Biggest record from a car was i think was Kenny Brack very scary crash. 218gs!!!!
  10. well our last 3 subaurs (96 RA, 01 blitzen, v9 sti) have all been maunals. She just doesnt want a maunal to drive around in brissy traffic. And cause imports are so hard (and expensive) to get in aussie, that also rules getting a grey import. meh, what can you do.....
  11. Well this is Clubsub, i'm surprise a shitfight hasnt broken out yet with ppl posting up they going to leave and dolphin name calling. Anyways The gf wants an auto, so that counts the wrx out. So it might be a holden instead... Ive got another week till my week off, i'll still wana take a wrx for a spin.
  12. You didnt get BG shocks? AFAIK BL/BP rear shocks are the same as well. (The fronts are different thou)
  13. I can have a full spec (leather and sunroof) for 37K aus$ drive away. the STi is only about 65K over here. Plus nearly all euros have a "luxury Tax" on them. so they are more expensive to rego and that. Also the main point is i want a new car, or under 10'000kms. But then again, the gf will be driving it mostly so she might change her mind at last minute and want somthing like a mini convertable or the like...
  14. Cause not everybody wants a turbo.......
  15. yip. but like any car you buy you lose money. My V9 sti i got it for 32K and not even a year later i couldnt get 23K for it. I dont really care much about money value at end of day. The car is cheap enough brand new and im in a position to buy a new car.
  16. Brand new. Only 000052kms on clock. I taking it for a test drive this week. Need a car now so dont wana wait a few more months to buy a STi
  17. Are you sure? I brought a set of adjustables off a BH and they fitted perfect to my BE What differences are there between the shocks?
  18. Hey all, i'm looking at getting a new WRX. But as i cant get the STi, just wondering if anybody has any good/bad opinions about this model...... And try not to fit thread up with "Go for tht STi instead" Cheers
  19. you can always try the likes of the japan brands eg: Tein, HKS, RS*R I had a set of RS*r ones i got off trademe, was low, ride stay the same, and the springs always remain captive. Oh and only springs for a BE/BH legacy will fit!!!! as the rear suspension is completely different. AS for your locks. Just go to wreckers and get some rear door handles and put them on in replacment of your front. (they are the same handles)
  20. You havnt replaced any hoses or added any boost gauges etc etc. I broke a t-peice on one of my vac hoses, replace it with other and was off. but the hoses and tee was bigger diameter and the BOV started to open after 5psi would even hit secodary. Went to local wreaker, found the tee and other factory hoses, replaced, and the car drove all good. just another thing to look out for....
  21. get with today's youth. Noob Racers!
  22. Name: Jono Age: 28 Location: Groote Eylandt (use to live in Rotorua) Occupation: Instrumention Tech/Electrician Subarus: 1989 Legacy VX, 1991 Legacy RS, 2001 Legacy Blitzen, 1996 V2 RA, 2005 V9 Sti And maybe in 3 weeks, a GRB STi
