Hey guys as some of you may remember from the old site I had started a thread following the build up of my latest project, A 1989 VZ legacy that im converting to RS spec, well have done a bit on it and pick up my engine on saturday, thing is I was on trademe the other morning looking at the $1 reserve auctions at 3.30am (im a dairy farmer lol) and there was an sti intercooler and Y pipe etc ending at that time in the morning! couldnt resist and ended up getting a mint setup for $40!! my question is, without actualy having the engine in the bay yet to check, is it going to fit? its one of the silver ones with "tuned by STI" on it with the red silicon pipes. I dont mind making my own brackets etc if needed just wana know if im goin to have enough room?

hey bro im up in chch on saturday so ill have a go at it for ya, havnt met a car that can beat me in that department yet....

well the pin that everyone has mentioned has a seat on the inside of the gearbox that it sits in and because I was pullin on the damn thing so hard it broke the seat off on the inside of the box so had to chop the seats out of an old buggered box and get them welded to the inside of my box

haha heres hoping ya havnt pulled on ya box to much dude i had same problem as you and pulled and pulled and could only get it bout an inch off the engine, gave up got my mechanic mate to do it for me and he showed me the pin to pull out first, but had damaged the seats inside the gearbox that the pin sits in by pulling to much. Anyhow one chopped up spare gearbox, and a bit of welding and a big wad of cash later and she was good as new again!!
