not on that link just after an adapter not the whole valve
-
where theres a will theres a way. I guess it depends on how much you wana spend, I don't imagine that would be cheaper than just buying a different turbo
-
Need an adapter for a gfb bov, anyone know of someone who stocks these in chch? Can get them off website to but prefer to get over the counter somewhere
-
-
possibly just the early generation boxers?
-
hi, check out this link (the bottom shows a 3port solenoid pic)
http://www.cobbtuning.com/info/?ID=3482
the part you have wrong is the manifold bit(i think)
i think it goes from intake to manifold not solenoid to manifold
-
;D yea that would suck.luckily I live 5kms from work an I bike most days.Hoping its not cracks as that would possibly require removal of turbo again ? (you talking about the metal pipes?) I cant see or hear any leaks but I don't exactly know where I should be looking. I understand the basics thanks to that website link for cobbtuning an its all plumed up correctly as far as I can tell
Might take a quick video an post it up if anyone would like to look
if the BOV was leaking/not installed would this cause a boost loss? Just got a mint after market one from rocco (thanks again if you read this) just need a wee adaptor to put it in
regardless of what the problem is it wasn't happening until the install of the uppipe haha so it must've been something I did wrong/damaged
-
when mine was working it pulled really hard and had the raw boost sound to.. don't know what it'd be compared to a 23 though sti used them over the td05 so assume they are better/cheaper/more reliable ? then again my car has just done 200,000kms an there is not even the slightest bit of shaft play in it
-
no one will give way/let you in cause you look like common filth?
roll up next to an evo in your stock subi?
-
its not a slipping clutch is it ? just cause you said how the revs go up an theres no power ? if it is you should notice it does it in 5th worst
-
kinda sounds similar to my problem.Haven't been driving the car an didn't see any cracks on removal but possible
-
no thanks :)would much rather just a 2nd hand piece that will do it right
-
oh man thats some BL, also who steals a scooter lol wankers
-
hi again to all.
I have discovered this today haha
I was checking my vacuum lines an found the line from boost solenoid to airbox was just sitting there. an then saw that the connector piece on the airbox has snapped off (probably me)
You think this would be messing up the boost threshold? I will of course be replacing this anyway along with the bov
-
I wouldn't worry to much, technically its not a vltd unless you got the plate thingys (which could have been taken out)
and you engine code chassis code an gearbox code doesn't match the V Ltd car either
I was told that this car was hugely popular at around v2 and they couldn't keep up with demand so its possible your car was assembled as a v ltd but they didn't have the other parts to complete it or its possible the site isn't all that correct
for example my car is a 555 ltd engine an box but the car is a v2 sti non555 gf8 wagon
It will have a td05 turbo id say which is a good turbo an the ej20g are quite a strong engine to
according to ltsa an subaru service center my car isn't even a wrx lol an they had the cheek to tell me it wasn't an sti by any means, then I nicely pointed out the factory engine code an the sti goodies it has to him

fudge I replaced up an down pipes an took out a cat on midpipe that was leaking an it finally is all sorted minus the boost problem an now im being pinged on being to loud :
this is getting rather annoying an expensive now
-
oh yes it could be, I assumed it would be an o2 sensor haha, it is in the top of the stock down pipe an has a braided cord.
that aside it probably has little to nothing todo with the boost loss.I have a feeling ive stuffed something up on reinstall of turbo tbh will get it checked out if i get a wof 2moro an will of course post any results back here
-
id help out if i had a wof hahahah maybe nextime EH! dont spose you know a guy by the name of "nav" or "naverre" out there? sells lots a tropical fish n what not
-
Ok cheers for that il have to have a good look over it an go from there
I noticed the car ran without the MAF in (shouldn't it cut out?)
the other thing is the bov pipe is broken an the hose barely holds on well enough but I don't know weither this would be loose enough to have a vacum leak and it doesn't leak on idle but perhaps on full boost it might be leaking. (wasn't doing this before new pipes were installed)
-
checked all the wiring its all plugged in ok. the plumbing im 99% sure is right but can't tell without looking at the same turbo setup in a different car tbh, all the pipes are bent in certain ways/shapes so it would be hard to get any mixed up in this case
-
Well the car starts an idles fine an boosts fine but its more the boost threshold that is the problem
I dont think the MAF is the issue as I have a feeling it was playing up last winter (stalling an stuff when cold) although I will replace the sensor an get it plumbed up properly asap
I'm looking more at the wastegate
Can I adjust the wastegate ? I think I may have bent the piping piece to it so it could possibly not be opening/closing properly now just wondering how/If it can be adjusted? I think a few weeks ago I was also having a bit of a whistle from the turbo (surge?)
any ideas on that one?
-
thank for the help ODB
yea code 23 is MAF... OH ops I know what a MAF is haha silly me.
Um so now that I know the code What makes this "not work" an does anyone know if its directly related to having boost problems particularly with boost threshold an or lagg problems
Cheers Sam
p.s where do I go from here? clean the MAF ?
