Hi guys, I want to hear what you guys opinion on this one. Last year I had my radar detector stolen from my car during a smash and grab. Last night I was browsing trademe and I think I saw my stolen radar detector. The item has no box or user manual and the selling lives 2 streets from where my radar was taken. Obviously I'm not certain that it was my stolen one until I view it. What would you guys do? Cheers T

I have seen wrx at over 200k runs like it was 100k and it all depends on how it was treated and serviced. If it was serviced to the manufacturers recommendation it would have lots of stuff replaced and will go for another few years no problems. my wrx had over 200k on the clock and runs sweet uses no oil and boosts strong. The only thing is that when you get a older car you will need to budget for higher servicing costs. If you worry about it might as well spend a little more and get a newer car. Just my 2 cents.

So you see the real time boost when you drive it? Cos mine just says zero the whole time

As far as I can see the vacuum line is hooked up...

Only did a couple o run myself. But I presume the mechanic has adjusted when he tested it as one of the setting has the duty cycle maxed out. I think something isn't right as the real time boost function dot work and the peak boost level stayed at zero even tough my boost gauge tells me that I'm on 0.5 bar.

Thanks Nade for the link. I have gone through the booklet and checked all the vacuum connections on to the solenoid and they all look fine. Then I setup the ibc unit with duty cycle and gains as instructed then took it for a blast in 3rd and 4th gear. But for some reason I'm only boosting 0.5 bar and the real time boost level and peak boost are not shown/stored in the ibc when I checked it during and after the run. The ibc controller has power but doesn't seem to work? I wonder if anyone here had similar experience? If I can proof that it's an installation problem I can take it back to the garage who installed it. Thanks

Hi guys, I had a second hand gizzmo Ibc installed in my wrx by a Subaru mech the other day, but he was having difficulty setting it. He installed it according to the instruction manual and while the unit has power, he was unable to set it up. It won't go into the set up sequence on start up and just flashed zero and then go into boost display model. I suspect that it wasn't installed properly but the mechanic ensure me that it was installed according to the instruction manual. Please help and give me an idea what might be the issue? Is there a gizzmo support line that I can call? Thanks

Hi guys, just got a complete shift assembly off a v6 STI coupe and had a go at installing it in my 96 pre facelift WRX (v2). One of the linkage (the one without the main bushing) seems to be very different to the STI one and does not seem to be a direct fit as the connection looked to be completely different. The new one look like this I'm trying to get a image of the old one posted up soon, but just wonder if anyone has experience swapping newer shift assembly into an older WRX or RS Legacy? I have had proxy4s on my car for about 50k km now. Used to have the T1S which is now replaced by T1R. I found the proxy4 is quieter than the T1S and good value for money as it's about 180 per corner and will last about 30k km of daily normal driving. The wet weather grip is not bad either. Im due for a new set soon and will probably try the T1R next.

Went to Highbrook Auto to get my brake disks skimmed, pads changes to EBC red stuff and new brake fluid (motul). Getting a WOF at the same time. Fitted STI rear spoiler on my GF8... Alex at Highbrook seems to be a nice and on to it guy and he could be my regular mechanic from now on. Man it's hard to find good ones these days.

Nice, mine is a bit dusty so i want to degrease it but dunno how to use it properly as not that confident hosing my engine bay
