  1. A pair of STi Genomes is always a safe option on a BP Wagon. Quite around town changing to a deep note at WOT.
  2. No BG/BD series car was fitted with an alloy bonnet from factory.
  3. Its probably more that 90% of the good ones are from dealers.
  4. Just remember the 250t only comes in 4AT trasmission. If your going down that route I would save the extra cash and get a 3.0R 4th Gen with 5AT Tiptronic
  5. The front Brembo brakes from a GDB should be a direct bolt on as the GTBs run a 330mm rotor AFAIK. The rears most likely wont without an adapter due to running a R160 diff rather than R180 found in the STi's. Funkytown should be able to comfirm this..
  6. What about the simple maintenance things like tire pressures, wheel alignment, upper engine cleaner etc?
  7. As stated before the goodies that the TSR gets over the TX is: DOHC engine GTB bodykit with spotlights Better interior trim including Momo steering wheel, leather gear knob, sports seats Optional extras: Double Sunroof Bilstien Shocks Privacy glass (tinted) Rear Spoiler HID lights? I think just the better interior alone makes it worth the extra $$, and the fact all it takes is a set of GTB 17s and small drop in ride height and you have yourself a GTB lookalike without the insurance/gas bills
  8. Put up an add in the wanted section. Failing that theres always HEAPS of BG GTs being wrecked on TM. Just make sure its from a car with the same transmission type eg auto or manual
  9. Your best option might just be to pick up a second hand solenoid box off another GT of the same year.
  10. A Rev D (01-03) bonnet will physically fit but only once you take to it with a hammer lightly around the headlights and you will still be left with a small gap on the inside of the headlights. I dont know why you would want to convert the bonnet to Rev D anyway, the scoop size is just the same. Your only options for a bigger scoop is to get a bigger one grafted on your stock bonnet or to go with a aftermarket bonnet.
  11. You dont need to remove the IC to clean the IACV just undo the 2 screws holding it in place and pull out, give a good clean with some carb cleaner. They get a pretty heavy gunk build-up over time. The throttle body itself stays fairly clean
  12. Wont fit. The strut towers are too close to the firewall on the B4.
  13. Theres a STi Genome for a BH/BE on Trademe at the moment. Was around $200 from memory though.
  14. Pretty sure it needs repinning. I think 99GTB and Subout have done it from memory.
  15. Cant really see why FHI didnt go down that route in the first place. How much did it roughly cost? The ECV flapper would be the other big restriction as it still blocks near half of the port when fully open. Would a butterfly valve work as a replacement ?
  16. Which secondary do you normally use Steve? The likes of the VF27 for a primary would be pretty laggy with a P18 housing wouldnt it?
  17. That would cut down the VOD significantly wouldnt it? As the SRV is dumping all the boost the secondary makes until it equals primary boost. Not to mention removing two solenoids from the equation!
  18. From Robertsm on here. He imports them from Aus. They are just the same as the standard one the only difference is they dont the factory plug to plug into the loom, so you have to cut and reconnect wires (the bosch ones have a clever little connector that saves you from having to do any crimping.
  19. Its very simple to install universal O2 sensor.. Just need a set of wire strippers/cutters, a jack and some patience I replaced my O2 sensor last month with a genuine bosch universal unit, $150 landed and an hours labour to install.
  20. Cool, seemed odd to be in the secondary downpipe. Is it important part of the system? Can it be cleaned?
  21. While pulling my aftermarket downpipes off to do a turbo swap I pulled out what i think is the rear oxygen sensor. It doesnt appear to be the factory one as I know the factory one screws in at the y-pipe join where as this one screws in on the secondary downpipe. Isnt the factory one the same size to the front o2 sensor? My one is a much smaller probe. So my question is am I indeed looking at the rear o2 sensor or is some completely different? It has heavy carbon deposits on it which doesnt look particularly healthy. Cheers
  22. Yup 53 is factory on BE/BH. Most wheels to fit legacys will be around the 40-50 region unless your trying to go for the hellafrush/stance/static look
  23. My sister picked up a bone stock 94 GT with genuine 140ks and FSH from wingers for $1800! Theres not many nice ones left but there are still a few out there
  24. Dont think so? Ive swapped VF20/VF21 (96 era) for VF26/VF27 (99-00 era) before no worries. Your biggest problem will be undoing the bolts if your turbos havent been touched since they rolled out the factory in 1994 But yes, 26/27 best power output potential of the factory turbos.
  25. Jord

    GTR problem

The family that owns Gun City have like 10+ GTRs, they often import them and flick them off on TM.
