  1. Come into work for a chat if you would like. Sims Brothers on Anzac Ave beside Normans Auto Elec. I'm the apprentice there and 3 out of 6 of us drives subs. or call 4771110 ......
  2. People dropping like flies!! I will be a fly also sorry, heading to the thriving Naesby for the weekend.
  3. take the springs out and do a roof chop ..... it'd be gangster as!!!! still doesn't solve you engine problems however ..
  4. Green wagon is gooooone ..... a picture about half way down of old and new .... http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,30.msg290037.html#msg290037
  5. Hey bro .... I still have these, I lug them round every time I move. The tyres have always been unwarrentable since I've had them but if you want them PM me and i can come drop them off .....
  6. Yeah mate .... well aware of that ... actually getting an original airbox today .... pretty anti pod but came on car so not much choice unfortunately! The guy who had the car before me also just cut a dirty hokle in the front guard 'so the pod gets more air' not a very bright one..
  7. I drive round Uni a bit as i work on Anzac ave .... dirty and farking loud BF5 wagon with sexy 3 spokes!!! I know you .... didn't you have a haggard HX20?? hahah.... nah just kidding, good to see you on here Josh.
  8. I just bought my 90 Legacy GT and the guy i bought it off said that the plastic coolant top tank split and was leaking so he put one of the alloy TT ones on. just got a bracket made up by a friend and pretty happy with the final fit, just need to sort out those hoses to the overflow and the radiator and it'll be mint .... if any one else wants to do the same I could get my friend to make a bracket up for a small fee, and use mine as a template .......
  9. thought I'd throw a picture up of the new family wagon!! Sold the old twin turbo bg5 to the other apprentice at work end of an era but a bit over the twin turbo setup and wanted single!!! enter the new wagon. got it for cheap as it has been off the road since 2005 and the guy wanted it gooooooone. did the token coolant change on purchase and low and behold little drops of toxic green coolant in behind passenger cam cover....... So cambelt kit in and a few things (springs, bushes, wheel bearing, couple of bulbs) to get up to warrant standard. it does have a ridiculously big cannon on the back and fark me is it loud, just waiting to get pulled up! I have a few plans for it but will save up a bit of coin and attack it. So far love the single turbo, even with the vf10 it still pulls pretty well! Wheels are definitely next on the list ... who seriously buys 3 spokes?? they are filth!!! They are rays 3 piece wheels so if anyone is keen PM me an offer ...... and yes they clear 4 pots!!
  10. I could be keen to meet up .... haven't done anything in well over a year!!
  11. The early legacy's are pretty bad for lifter noise but you could try some magic stuff called Pro-Ma MBL8 Oil Additive ... it's works wonders for cleaning/silencing noisey lifters. http://www.fueloiltreatments.com.au/Technical/MBL8%20Oil%20additive.html
  12. hey, if you havnet sorted your str mtr you cud post your one to me here in Timaru and i will recon it for you (ex auto sparky) free of charge, you pay for bits, i cud get a quote for the parts first, just a thought? Thanks chief but my mish mash of bits is working very well at the mo and I had to use a handful of parts out of my toast one. It really would have just been new bushes but I snapped both the long bolts in the alu housing and they were bastards to get out.. but done and done. Will see how long it lasts....
  13. Yeah bro, still lurking but my wagon has been out of action of so long there wasn't much point in being on here as much but I still popped in every now and then. Now I have a new clutch and have replaced the primary turbo twice it seems so be going well My starter was very sad though. Found that the bushes had worn so much the windings were eating into the magnets and making bad noises and very sloooooow to turn over. [quote name='dubbedup said: i think i got one. dunno if it good or not tho Thanks bro. I ended up making one good one out of my toast one and one off an sr18... works mint now and sounds like a starter motor should!! You should hold on to it though because no wreckers in Dunedin have any manual twin turbo starters. Apparetnly they are getting pretty hard to find in good nick.
  14. Hey guys and girls..... havn't posted on here in a super long time but I am in a pickle and was wondering if anyone could help me out. Does anyone in dunedin have a starter motor out of a manaul legacy. It's a 94 GT and the starter number is 16. I'm pretty sure most manual twin turbo ones will fit. I am a poor student so beer is currency in my books so please message me if you can help me out..... Thanks
  15. Really?? Mine does 13-14 and 16-18 depending on where and when and never had a problem in one and half years.... just have a fucked clutch and the standard subaru oil leak feature. Do the GT-B have same bost levels or were the earlier GT's given slightly less stock boost? Sorry about the highjack!
  16. I had to get new rotors for my last warrent and got DBA slotted ones .. only thing guy asked when I went for the re-check was.... "what are they? racing rotors?" no questions about cert or anything.. Might have to ring my insurance company though....
  17. I have a similar way to akaynlsn but I put the turbo pipes on the intercooler first (but don't tighten them up heaps because you may need to rotate to line them up with the turbos. then get a long 20cm or more flat head screwdriver and lots of wriggle and leverage to get the secondary one on then before you tighten it up line the primary up. With out the passenger side bracket on I can get my hand under the intercooler to get it on but lose a bit of knuckle skin.
  18. I believe that the BG GT-B's got bigger factory rear sway bars than the GT's. Did they get 19mm over 16mm in the GT's, Can anyone confirm this for me??
  19. Yeah they are s12's and I am aware that they are going to eat pads like a t-rex!! I can't wait to get on the track with them though... on the zonelli website the s12's are apparently for the 'track enthusiast'....... sweet. I got the whole lot as a package for a steal so I'm not to concerned. Pads are about the same price as the ones for original 2 pots anyway so other than having to purchase more frequently its a small compromise for the for superior stopping power!!
  20. No, I have the 16" factory STI wheels off an Impreza at the moment but won't be for long. I want a set of split spoke 17" GTB wheels.
  21. Sweet, thanks. Will get some fresh new washers tomorrow and some more fluid, lost a bit during trasplant procedure. Just to be safe should the bleeding bolt? whatever its called, be on the top or the bottom of the caliper??
  22. Yeah. have the copper washers. they look a little bent. New ones are going to be next port of call tomorrow.
  23. I am in the process of swapping the original 2 pots for 4 pots and have encountered a problem. They bolt up fine but where the brake lines attatch to the back of the calipers I can't get it to seal properly. Should the original brake lines bolt straight in to the back of the 4 pots or will i have to get sti brake lines. Car is a BG5A TT Legacy
