  1. Seeing as mine is stock ( ) there's not a lot they can do about it.
  2. Actually, my wife thinks the Spec C is way more comfortable than my old TT wagon... Could be because the old wagon was on stiff as D2 coilovers and dumped on it's arse...
  3. Yeah, like talking AFTER sex...
  4. Yep, no stoopid swollen steering wheel or passenger punching bag, but the visors still have the warning label on them... I don't miss any othe the things that they strip out really...maybe the rear wiper now and then. As to the fuel tank, i get 530 odd km's out of mine so 50L ain't that bad. Way better handling than an STi though, and 1.5bar+ ain't nothing to sneeze at...
  5. If it's a stone caught in there, you'd know; it sounds like the car is riding on the disc instead of the wheel, bloody loud.
  6. Nah, don't woryy, it's the FUEL companies that hike fuel by large amounts... ...the government only add a small amount...but often!
  7. Yeah, mine is a bit bumpy, and noisey too, but not that bad... There is a soft Spec C option there, the 17 inch wheel model with brembo's and no DCCD...i'm guessing it'l have aircon and lec-tric windows...
  8. Yeah, but to be fair, he did try to open the boot 8 times using the same lever which failed to open it the first time ???
  9. If she just wants an auto WRX, you could get something way cheaper... I got the impression she was after an STI...and thought i'd point out there are higher specs than STI for not much more coin...
  10. Probably buy a crappy new Crummydoor like most aussie's... I've had (to quote Mike here) bum dyno time in several of these (including the 6L V8) and to be honest, apart from the lack of power and acceleration (no, seriously), they handle like the cook strait ferry on a bad day... :
  11. and kick yourself for buying the first WRX that isn't really a WRX...
  12. Actually, i just looked again and despite the pics looking the same, they are clearly two diff cars. Both have different stereos, one has genome boost gauge. Also, despite them both having a prodrive front, one has the full front, with badge attached to bumper and indicators in bumper, the other has seperate badge in grill and no indicators in the bumper. ...and, one has what appears to be a HONDA Type R "R" sticker on the boot...
  13. Same pics (lazy dealer) but different cars, check the mileage
  14. Which one, there's four white ones... I'm not up on the prodrive models, so don't really know the specs. Says they have more power than an STI but i reckon they are probably just an STI with leftover Prodrive kits bolted on... The spec C's though; up to 80kg lighter than the STI for the Spec C and up to 200kg lighter than an STI for the Ra Spec C... Plus hand built engines with proper forged bits, bigger turbo's, uprated VVT, flowed heads, more aggressive cams and ECU, 1.3 -1.5bar factory! to list but a few bits...
  15. Yeah, ive seen chimps on doco's that learn quicker... ;D
  16. Don't buy suspension just because it's in your price range... Find what you want, and save until you can buy it new.
  17. Stay with the V7, cheaper and lighter than V8 & V9, also better engines... In fact, i'd look at a Spec C, way, way more bang for your buck, trust me. This is listed wrong, as an RA Spec C, but it's actually a Spec C (17 inch wheel model) http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/WRX/auction-209963327.htm This is an RA Spec C http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru//auction-209417966.htm Or go for a Prodrive model, if the wind ups and lack of comforts are not your thing: http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/Impreza/auction-182962972.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/Impreza/auction-208913350.htm http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Motors/Cars/Subaru/Impreza/auction-198056512.htm
  18. You can tell your wife to let the wof guys know: "sorry, you don't get to set the rules. No matter how small your dicks are, you still have to allow 95dB with a +/- .5dB, just like everybody else. WOF guys are a joke, and love to try it on whenever a "modded jap" car turns up. Just took the car to the local VTNZ and, as an example of the lack brainpower found at these places, watched the tester (who was clearly looking for a boot release) pop my fuel flap, shut it and proceed to repeat the same operation 7 more times (clearly expecting a different reaction). After 8 attempts, i went over and told him there wasn't a boot release and to use the boot key. He told me i wasn't allowed inside! Funny, looked like i was more qualified to be there than him...
  19. It's all in the braking...just don't!
  20. I know how you feel, i have put my sub in mine, but; it is only a 10 inch, and i did cut the box down to almost nothing, and it is cable tied in... and the new Advan RG's saved me 6kg anyway, and i fitted alloy nuts to be on the safe side ;D
  21. Seeing as how a fully stripped GC8, even with a cage, wouldn't weigh more than 1150kg, Subaru 4 pots should do the same job that 6pot Brembo's do on larger cars...
  22. Adrenalin's are all good, and Toyo T1R's are a pretty good tyre; Proxes 4's, while still a good tyre are no match for adrenalins but NANKANG NS2's are plain RUBBISH.
