My recommendation just start it and drive, dont fang* till water temp is up.
*fang = sustained high boost/redline gear changes

It pays to ask, most WOF's testers have a meter now BUT only a few are certified to issue a plaque to say you are legal
you can try pumping the brake pedal at same time - APPARENTLY helps drain residual power from circuitry (not proven method)
24hrs un plug/overnight has always been the best bet - and/or try ECU reset procedure (green and black diagnostic plugs snd gor for a drive over 11 kph till CEL flashes continuously)
75% of the time I would have to say BEB (not from personal experience yet) is responsible for their failure

My motor still activates but everything else long gone, keep it unless muffler rusts out is my advice, remove centre cat or the cat on the down pipe for some extra oomph
