  1. where did you get that v8 scoop and do they do one to fit a v2 sti hatch?
  2. yep it also inhibits corrosion so if you want your radiator, heater core etc.. to last as long as possible i would add antifreeze, and you also going to have make sure it compatible with aluminium block
  3. it from trademe:http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/engines/auction-394726029.htm from a subaru wreckers in christchurch
  4. Did this yesterday went from this. to this: notice heaps more power in the acceleration just need to get around to removing the snorkel. Also found oil in the elbow connecting to the turbo what would that mean?

  7. what about my gold 16" v2 sti rims with Bridgestone adrenelins re001 4months used tyres? and do what Saltan suggest lower it will make abit of differance in the apearance and maybe tint that windows if they havvnt been done, but yeah 17" will probably look better maybe the wrx sti v8 rims gold or painted a different colour? or even these blisten 17" rims http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/cars/subaru/photos/a-392184118/p-178774997.htm
  8. 22mm im sure i did my cambelt 1 month ago
  9. you will also need new rims that clear 4pots eg. v3 - onwards sti gold wheels,
  10. i used a wire brush on a drill works alot faster and easier then painted with 3m caliper paint. paint is still on since january
  11. workshop will charge you around $1200 to do the whole job. that what i was qouted. ended up removing my dashboard and found out you need to remove a/c to get heater box out so just backward flushed with garden hose to unblock my core.
  12. you have to remove whole dashboard out. remove the fan. then the a/c box. to get heater box out. and you have to detach heater hoses from the core. which will require removal of tmic if you have one
  13. dont know but those cheap ones dont work ended up doing the two man way anyway
  14. funny rx7 drift fail http://www.liveleak.com/view?i=4f6_1290556164
  15. having the heater lines clamped off is the blockage if you want to bypass the heater core you need to loop the heater core back into the engine where the hose goes out of engine to the heater core and back to the engine where the hose coming backout of heatercore back into engine.
  16. ive heard of them before never tried them have some unique features like keypad code. you dissarm alarm with remote then to deactivate the immobiliser you need to punch in a # digit code(good for if theif gets ahold of your keys with the remote). i think the reason you havent heard about them is that they prefer there own authorised installers to install there alarm so its not an off the shelf and installed by anyone product, so you would only really hear about them from there authorised installers, website and the marketing which ive only seen them at big boys toy, the motorshow, carshows etc.. maybe those who have tried autowatch alarms can give there experiences with them?
  17. I would recommend the castrol syntrax 75w-90 aswell might be abit pricy but made a huge difference in my mates legacy. but then his is a 95 and had never had the oil changed. his gear shift was abit ruff and changing to syntrax smoothed it right out feels alot better to change gear in his car.
  18. Disclaimer i take absolutely NO Responsability for any damage or anything else happening as a result of you using this howto. Im also not a mechanic but have done this procedure on my own car without damaging my powersteering. Use At Your OWN RISK!!!! there is a hose going to the reservoir ontop of the powersteering pump engine is turned OFF 1.jack car up so both front wheels are off the ground(maybe add axle stands for safety) 2. syphon old oil out of reservoir 3. disconnect return hose and put in emptie container to catch old fluid. 4. find something to plug hole where the hose goes into reservoir 5. add new fluid to reservoir 6. steer wheels from far left to right a couple of times and check and topup reservoir so it doesnt run dry. 7. continue step 6. untill clean fresh fluid comes out 8. syphon the reservoir fluid out(dont need to do this if you think you can be quick enough and not loose much fluid out of reservoir. 9. unplug the hole and reconnect hose(might need new clamps if your factory ones stuffs up like mine did) 10. top up reservoir to max level 11. turn wheel left to right to get air out and check reservoir 12. start engine and repeat step 11. untill you see no more air bubbles in the reservoir. also on step 3 you could attach a clear tube to the hose so you can see when the old fluid changes to the new fluid Hope thats helped worked for me but i have a wrx sti but should be the same if your reservoir is attached to the pump like mine is and has only one hose connecting to the actual reservoir . i got my info from http://www.se-r.net/engine/replace_steering_fluid.html
  19. cant you get you car retested for wof not tints at another place like your local garage?
  20. painted & redone the seals of 4pot front calipers upgrade, only to find they dont fit with my 16" gold v2 Sti rims. so have painted and put new front brake pads on my old original brake calipers and replaced and bleed new brake fluid.
  21. hi, ive got a v2 sti and tried to fit 4pots but could not fit under my gold 16in sti rims so will need bigger wheels to fit unless you want to add spacers and longer studs which i would presume is illegal. so might decide to sell the 4pots and rotors i have which i have redone the seals in the calipers also have new brake pads. and also painted them blue but have sortof damaged the new paint trying to fit them so might need to be repainted.
  22. on mine have to also remove a/c hoses and box to get heater box out. you fixing heater core or removing totally, would get a half circle heater hose and join it on the engine side. so the coolant will continue to flow around engine. or join the two hoses together as mentioned above.
  23. far out it says in auction sti front strut brace does not have, brembo brakes, does not have just has the 2pot standard brakes painted red
  24. is this only for the 2000+ wrx's or do the early 96 wrx have those aswell?
  25. the pod filter has been on it since he brought the car ages ago so has never had the factory air box. so should try a clean the afm. thanks for you input.
