  1. thought so, smoke died down a fair bit to not too much after it warmed up.
  2. +1 I was wrong, but here is a bit direct from the Land Transport (Offences and Penalties) Regulations 1999 [quote name='THE MOTHER****ING LAW said: B]Offence[/b]Infringement fee ($)Any speeding offence, where the speed exceeds the speed limit by—– not more than 10 km an hour 30 – more than 10 km an hour but not more than 15 km an hour 80 – more than 15 km an hour but not more than 20 km an hour 120 – more than 20 km an hour but not more than 25 km an hour 170 – more than 25 km an hour but not more than 30 km an hour 230 – more than 30 km an hour but not more than 35 km an hour 300 – more than 35 km an hour but not more than 40 km an hour 400 – more than 40 km an hour but not more than 45 km an hour 510 – more than 45 km an hour but not more than 50 km an hour 630 So, he had to have been traveling w/in that 10-15kms over.
  3. fück baby jesus, don't be an asshole and put an STi badge there; instead be an even bigger asshole and put an Evolution badge there.
  4. so; swapped an engine (engine + turbos ) for a mates b4, had done a HG , new engine in: now I need yet to bleed the clutch so I haven't clamped any of the tmic piping so it can come off when I have some fluid to bleed it. first start up smoked like a cünt (white smoke) then it died down, still a bit of smoke, correct me if I'm wrong, but that's more than likely from all the unmetered air getting in? slüt whistle on it works fine though, so that's a plus.
  5. I know that one from experience: steel T joiner right above crank to merge head breathers = not fun mayonnaise lol
  6. as long as it is a plastic T piece, brass ones accumulate condensation = water where water doesn't want to be.
  7. [quote name='chulozumo said: Maaaaad, maybe you could bring your perfect self out to a meet sometime then #REKT tbh, alot of traffic travels in and around the city at circa 10kms over. or at 49ks under, not very often is there middle ground.
  8. I'll give you my nephew. Hes a long term investment.
  9. Cambelt, seals & waterpump done the crank pulley bolt was damn tough to get off though, was slipping the clutch in second trying to undo it lol. Eventually got it without breaking it. One of the cam bolts had shawn off the inner pattern (previously) so luckily I have a box of parts I was able to rely on. Feels good to have that done now. Shout out to brian for letting me use his cam locker tool. Made the job a hellova lot easier
  10. pretty much it's where demarcation of the solder(two parts of the solder have been heated to different temperatures causing what may look like beading-as with welding- it's not good for solder joints though) has occurred during the original soldering (Much less common with machine soldering but can happen) and over time it breaks apart and affects the consistency of the joint, fixed by finding the dry joint, applying a bit more heat & solder, suggest wicking the ****ed stuff off first. easy option though: most of the odometers on broken legacy's around the 160-180 thou mark so it's not too much of a difference.
  11. if it's the dash cluster, hit up pickapart, grab a cluster of the same year model as yours, swap it out, probably the quickest way for you to suss this problem. without having to re-solder a dried joint.
  12. they compress down to around 1.37mm As quoted from Rosssub, knew I'd seen it somewhere
  13. Just thinking, as I am doing an engine swap for a buddy with a Rev D and it has both turbos on the replacement engine, wondering if it'd be worth doing it.
  14. Reckon you can do that with the later rev D turbos? Or are the two too dissimilar?
  15. V5/6 sti stock 16. Think v7&up STI went 18?
  16. Have you guys heard of the effectiveness of copper headgaskets? Such as those ridgecrest engineering (aussie outfit) produce?
  17. wasn't this at 4's & Rotaries? Could have sworn I saw it in blenheim a day or so ago. Not this one? upon inspection, evidently different vehicles. free bump then.
  18. Paid her off And paid for new shifter bushes. I love pay day.
  19. Got her a wof, was advised to get new tyres, camber wear down to second rubber layer on the inside- whoops, forgot to rotate tyres :') THey've still got 2mm on the fronts, so that'll be xmas pressie for her after cambelt. That or it's a bloody good excuse for new wheels...
  20. the only element the avatar can't bend. Nah, it's the thin bit of metal the air flow meter has that allows it to gauge how much air is flowing through.
  21. I had a v5 non sti computer in my legacy first and that was hitting 15psi STi sits around 16-17psi didn't think boost cut was that low for 'em
  22. it'll leak more under pressure, so wont acheive target boost; too much fuel for amount of air going in; computer pulls boost to wastegate pressure.
