  1. Not too different to some other people around these parts...
  2. These guys all have good advice As a side note - Bendix Ultimates have done wonders on my tiny brakes (increased braking power greatly). Remember though, the final braking power comes from your TYRES. Not your BRAKES (which is why Brembos are really just bling and anti-fade material rather than stand-on-nose material). Adrenalins as tyres seem to be doing a good job as a road tyre. Semi-slicks (or slicks if you are rich/sponsored) are the ultimate however. OVER FILL YOUR OIL!! The last thing you want is big-end bearing failure.
  3. I can see about arranging a ClubSUB IRC channel Permanent chat ftw.
  4. Red DRUMS is funnier. (As is reading the post actually posted )
  5. Agreeing as well - add this. Restricted power-to-weight ratio for certain ages additionally...can't accelerate the crap out of a car that doesn't want to accelerate much at all.
  6. IMO severe repercussions for their actions. Most of them are spoiled rotten, self-obsessed and more entitled than the balding guy shoving you off the road in his XR8 in rush hour because he can. Specific laws have already been put in place to combat behaviour that is almost exclusively that of boyracers (exhibition of speed, excessive acceleration, loss of traction, the whole racing another car thing...you name it). There are penalties for being snapped doing these things. But are they being followed up on? NO. They just rack up the fines and never pay them. They scrape their stickers off, steal cars when theirs are written off, and seem to think that attacking cops is a good way of getting around it all (WTF?!). They need jail time. Nothing a few bum cuddles can't scare out of them. More cars seized to pay their fines, denied loans for the fines (this would be good actually - traffic fines of a certain calibre go on record, so that if they attempt to buy a car, they're kinda screwed) so they can't get another car. Make the penalties heftier for being caught doing these things...less of this pussy 'here, here's a $600 fine' business and more 'here, here's 300 hours of community service'. Failing that... bum cuddles with Butch over at Paremoremo.
  7. He saves the universe with a Screwdriver ;D
  8. ^ agree The way that was written had me snorting with laughter ;D
  9. Good story Jam, talk about a stroke of luck. BLOODY CLOSE CALL! What a scumbag. I hope the catch him and give him the skinning-alive that he deserves. My keys stay in my pocket when I'm not driving, and the doors are unlocked only to get in and out of the vehicle. You get pretty paranoid after it's gone AWOL once I imagine you're both a bit shaken after that to say the least, eh
  10. She's pretty distinctive... you'd think it'd be recognisable enough to warrant NOT being stolen. IMO keep an eye on TardMe for parts you recognise, they MIGHT be that stupid. That's what I did when my Impreza got nicked, miraculously it showed up a week later, thrashed. Best of luck to you bro, I KNOW how you feel :'( Really hope she shows up - she's beautiful.
  11. Hell, what is it with all the rear-ends lately?! Somehow, THAT got fixed under insurance. Beautifully, too. TBH if it was my situation (AGAIN) and there was no hope of fixing price-wise, I would (depending on insurance value) let them scrap it and buy the shell back, then spend a little on a rolling body, do the swap. Anyone calling Dolphin needs to lurk moar at my BF5, as THIS IS EXACTLY WHAT I HAVE DONE BEFORE. You can get a rolling body for between $500 and $1000, straight and ready to go. No powertrain...which is what your current one is for ;D It's hard work and a pain in the arse, but... 1) You can dig all the sh!t out of your car, clean the living daylights out of the carpet and upholstery...like new! 2) Clean inside and out of the new chassis, remove all the dust, scrape off the crap you don't want 3) Do your single turbo conversion 4) Know every single nook, cranny and fibre of YourCar2.0. She's mint, she's clean and you know every detail. 5) Find a good $20 of coins hiding under the carpet!! Been there done that, have the minor mental breakdown trying to remove the dash to prove it.
  12. 2.0L Toyota...anything like the 1.8s? I've had this misfortune of piloting one of those...didn't realise the difference between mine and that 'Rolla would be SO huge. The N/A Subies have a lot more torque and get-up-and-go. If we are ever at the same meet...you'll have to drive my slowpoke for comparison's sake
  13. Differences are too minor to fuss over, at the very least. Considering the price difference lately, too Maybe a certain under-the-bridge type will believe it coming from you, loren ;D All 2.0L Subarus need decent petrol or they run like dogs.
  14. Ross, my darling. I have never, EVER driven a 1500cc vehicle...let alone a 1500cc SUBARU. ;D Your problem is easy to diagnose...you have a large human head stuck up your posterior. Looks a lot like your own. Cure is simple...remove it ;D
  15. If it was written by Autocar journos then it would have been like above But coming from Performance Car...I think they've got an IQ of about 52 amongst the lot of them and a warehouse full of the stuff young and dumb make... :-X
  16. 95. I use it sometimes in the Impreza (N/A) in preference to the significantly more expensive 98 around. There's a SLIGHT drop in power, doesn't accelerate as keenly. HOWEVER, it is SO MUCH BETTER than the other 95 piss that's ended up in there before. Feels like a higher rating than it is, from personal experience. I'd only use Shell if unable to get 98. (In fact I even go Mobil S8000> Shell V-Power > BP Ultimate) It might be good with the older turbos that could take 96 back in the day Edit: 95 is the NZ rating. Fuel economy is surprisingly good, too.
  17. Hmm. Maybe the ver7s are a little less extreme? My driver's seat is on its lowest setting and it can be a squeeze to get in under the steering wheel for anyone with big legs, and the passenger seat is just ridiculous... Watching tall guys get in is entertaining ;D It's like telephone books Not that I'd trade the ver9s. They are hot hot secks ;D
  18. ;D that's what I was thinking. Pound the fsck out of them til they fit! They curve the wrong way on the very bottom, can't get the dern bolts in. Thought it was just my wussy girly fingers til I drew blood and gave up o_O; I'll find some way of matching up the top latches...just to secure the seat. Btw - did you lower your GDB fronts, or just leave them as they are? Mine are headscrapers...
  19. F**KING B@STURD!! D:< They're SLIGHTLY off. The seats themselves fit absolutely perfectly, but nothing else does. Of the three hooks on the bottom of the back, only two fit - the middle one is way too long. The hooks on the upper side of the back miss the latches on the car by at least an inch. And the bottom ones seem to be spaced sliiightly differently. ...might need to hit the bottom ones with a F**KOFF HOOGE MALLET for reshaping purposes. As for the top...I'm stumped Just want to get them to hold on a bit, they feel a leetle bit unsteady. Not so concerned about the middle one. What did you do, Steve? O_o; (Note: I absolutely ADORE the way they look in the car ;D )
  20. Haha fair call then ;D Tis definitely true.
  21. I know all about the front seats, had 'em for nearly 3 years now I wanna get lowered rails because having tall people in the car is teh suck. Reubs and Fused used to about hit their heads on the roof!
  22. It means that if there's a dispute over the original owner of the images, all you need to do is say "So where's the high-res original, eh?" and if they say the 640x480 is it, you rain on their parade with 3000px+ of epic win
  23. That's what I'm wondering - my current foam makes an epic frisbee ;D BC5s have a bit more room than the GC8s don't they?
  24. I know there are a few people that have done this with their sedans (Steve, I'm lookin' at you babe!)... As of tonight I will be the proud owner of a MATCHING interior (FINALLY). I hear there are a few things one must do to make the buggers fit... Who's in the know? Cheers!
  25. Adding subie lurve for no good reason, shoosh. You can blame a certain brand of movies and chain of similar video games for the destruction of the Skyline as a formerly decent car
