  1. Possibly have a good look for the brain, normally under the dash somewhere. It might have some identifying numbers on that. Otherwise, take it to Streetsoundz or SLAP! and see if they can identify it.
  2. If you know what your alarm is, it's not hard to look up the model on the manufacturers website.
  3. I cant be certain about 6 3/4" speakers. If you wanted A series speakers then I'd go for http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Speakers/A-Series/Pioneer/TS-A1683R Or my choice from those Pioneer options would be http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Speakers/D-Series/Premier/TS-D602P or http://www.pioneerelectronics.com/PUSA/Products/CarAudioVideo/Speakers/D-Series/Pioneer/TS-D1602R You will be able to get the others in, but you'll need to make an aftermarket speaker ring to replace the plastic factory mounting kit.
  4. Probably not. Do you not know the model of the rotary commander? Is there a model number on it?
  5. You may have room underneath your front seats for a small box if it's a 10", but more than likely not. Best place is still in your boot, they just don't require a box nearly as big as a standard sub.
  6. Is it really a sub, or just a 6x9 that is high-passed to only play frequencies lower than 100Hz(ish) The best subs for space restriction are the flat piston types, Pioneer for example. Personally I don't bother with rear speakers... why give passengers music? It's your car! If you do your front stage right, then it will immerse your car in sound anyway. It's only a small cabin, not like a house living room or movie theatre.
  7. Sony You only get out what you put in
  8. FMIC = Front Mount InterCooler
  9. The several types of adjustables I've used (HKS, Tein) have had brackets on them for the brake lines.
  10. yeah the surrounds are made of a very flimsy foam and disintegrate with touch. They'll probably be farked
  11. Less than stuff all if they aren't being run off an amp and are in a door that isn't sound deadened.
  12. I love the way mine sounds... 3" turbo back exhaust with equal length headers
  13. I really like my equal length headers. Yeah it sounds like an Evo but I got over the sound pretty quickly. Whenever I drive somewhere, people often tell me the car sounds really aggressive. I like that.
  14. I've used the Prestone stuff and it's a cranberry sauce-type reddy colour.
  15. They have surprisingly good mid-bass from a crappy paper cone speaker... they are okay but if you like any kind of decent quality sound, or you play a lot of music in your car, then you'll want to upgrade. Even if they are cheap Sony's or Panasonic's.. they are still a put-load better than the factory ones.
  16. Yep I suffered about a month ago... a night full of boxing, sword fighting, tennis, kayaking, and my arm was sore for a week
  17. Most lower-end component speakers will fit, either 6 or 6.5". They normally come with 20mm tweeters which fit in the factory location, you just need to snap the lil holders off and fix them down with some double sided tape. The woofers may be too big for the plastic speaker holders, but you can just hacksaw the plastic cover, so they will fit. The other way you can go is get some 2-ways that have the tweeter and the woofer in one unit. One option that I know does work is the Pioneer TS-16xx series. They are 16cm speakers. As far as models, well it's been a while since I've dealt with lower end speakers, but if you wanted to post up any options you are looking at, there are a few of us audiophiles who could say yay or nay. Haha with my double sided tape and hacksawing I sound quite rangi, I assure you I'm not really that rangi
  18. Either way works fine.. I just find the t-nuts have more area available for glassing around, than a bolt does.
  19. Sorry but OMG another insurance thread.... I think we need an insurance section for all these threads!!
  20. Get some T-Nuts.. they the bomb!! http://www.boltdepot.com/t-nuts.aspx Easiest to glass in. The spikes you just flatten down.
  21. There was a guy around here that said they had, or could make the dogbone adaptors to fit the STi 2pot rear brakes onto the 2nd and 3rd Gen Legacy's. I've done a search and can't find the details. Who was this?
  22. Same here, they clear by only a few mm and never had any probs.
  23. Take it and run... it's so hard to get what a car is worth let alone what you think it's worth!!
