I would buy one normally but apparently they aren't sold in my size any more.. or none that I have found anyway. So I wanted to get what was available.
-
Yep I get my stuff through Hyper.. good service, pricing and fast shipping. Can get it sent to your local tyre centre (assuming they have a contact in your area), so you don't have to lug the stuff around yourself.

Just looked at the weather update :'( oh well! any ideas on a car park or something covered we could head to after food for a couple of photos? Bring your shammy to dry off your car haha
What the heck is a 'shammy' hahaha... I don't think you can even blame Autocorrect for that.. it's not even close to spelling chamois correctly!!

I have indeed!
nice cars, I've had a 2002 SG5 2.5x Man and a 2004 XT Crossport which I sold about 5 months ago.....great cars minus the wind noise and the typical window gusset mods!
just not sure though, I know they're cheaper but the V8 / V9 has Always been a 'want'
Yeah the window gussets are very easy to replace though.. then voila.. no noise!

Mother's Wax Attack + appropriate 3-step products

I had a Rage system on my Spec C and it was pretty good... 3" turbo back but the axle-back section was 2.5" with the Genome muffler to cut down the noise a bit. Worked a treat.

Mmm yep I've recently been ripped off by someone (not this guy though) trying to sell me something, who I've since found out has done this to a lot of other people. Have seen that other people have filed police reports against the guy I dealt with, but I haven't yet. What are the chances of getting your money back if this guy gets caught / charged through the courts?
Once bitten twice shy.. From now on I'll be calling out people when they try selling me something.

Drivers lower speaker decided to start rattling under bass, so have to look at how to stop this.
Also drove over a nail on day 2 of owning haha.
I'll put this down to the speaker's foam surround perishing due to old age. Time to upgrade speakers

I want to buy a tyre off someone in Auckland but it's pick up only, in Waitakere City.
Is there someone around who would be willing to pick it up and look after it until we sort out a way to get it to me in Wellington? Mainfreight courier or something of the like?
Cheers

Got two new Rota Grid wheels to swap out the mismatched ones... so now I'm rolling on all 4 matching size wheels

It would appear they are WRX, non STi.. going by this search:
https://parts.subaruonlineparts.com/oe-subaru/20310fe050
Pretty sure they will be good enough for now.. if I don't like the height / stiffness then I'll keep an eye out for STi ones.
-
Finally got a model number off him - 20310FE050. Don't know if this is front / rear left or right, but it's a start.
I think it will be one of the rear ones... I think the front ones are normally 000 / 010
-
So I've been offered these and the guy says they were out of an '01 STi, but he says he can't get the model numbers off them for me. Apparently the stickers are too worn off and he can't tell what they are.
Could anybody confirm if the early GDB STi struts / springs were black, or would they just be WRX ones?
I'm positive they will still work fine, it would just be good knowing what I'm getting. If worse comes to worse, I can view them myself in 2 weeks time, they guy is in Hawkes Bay.
Or, would anybody know what KYB model numbers they could / should be if they were either WRX or STi? @Firenza ?

The one that you pointed out in the Trademe thread: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/used-cars/subaru/auction-1303705433.htm
I don't think it's an STi for these reasons:
Front badge is crooked & rear badges are in weird places;
Bonnet scoop is only WRX size
There are no engine and only one interior pics to look at.. I'm sure they would show more things to point out
@calebwrx has a V7 WRX wagon, he might be able to comment further on what he knows / has found out over the time he's owned it.

Yeah after finding out that my rear struts are mismatched, I'm keen to get that sorted out pronto. I actually have a set of rear STi Genome orange struts so I may just throw those in, that will raise up the rear a bit and give me a bit more clearance. Then I really only need to sort out some standard STi springs for the front to even out the height.

what swaybars mounts up to rear?
This may: https://www.subaruspeed.co.nz/collections/home-page/products/sway-bar-rear-22mm-impreza-01-03
But without knowing the model number, can't tell for sure. Perhaps @Kiwi_Fozze could confirm?
I was eyeing it up as well, but someone else can buy it and take the temptation away from me haha
-
Yes they are Teins, they have the little T symbol on them all. I would assume the right rear is a matching strut from the front, but interesting the rear left is a Forester strut.
I left out the part that these are in a SG9 Forester STi.
