Can an auto speedo work in a manual BE5 rsk?

As above, am wanting to know if an auto speedo cluster will work fine in a factory manual B4 tt.

Am contemplating tracking down a tinted cluster and have a few available but are all auto. would these still work ok after rewiring to suit the newer speedo?

I know the tinted ones have a dimmer on the indicator arm but i wouldn't imagine it would be big dramas to hook that up or disregard it and have a fixed brightness. The different pinouts could be a pain, but im sure it can be done with enough time/research .

So as far as the auto to manual side it should work with some playing?

should work.. as per what was said below the back lighting wiring is diffrerent and would probs be a case of getting a wiring guide of the two speedo clusters and then actually seeing what can be done rather then just buying another cluster and hacking it up to find that in the first place all it would have had to be done was a small mod ... therefore needing to yet again find another cluster ... my two cents Sam... 8)

Yes it can be done (I have proof), I wouldn't quite call it "some" playing though.

Lol wouldn't be hacking up the cluster, was actually intending to make myself an adaptor loom between my cars harness and the replacement speedo depending on the availability of the speedo plugs, making it plug and play.
