CEL and blinking cruise control light issue

Hey guys and gals

other day my CEL light came one solid and the cruise control light started blinking and I have read from overseas forums that when CEL light comes on any newer shape subies this disables cruise control (not that I have used it) and a lot of people also say that it is caused by a loose fuel cap as the car does a vacum type check and if you dont put your fuel cap back on properly these lights happen.

I am resisting taking this to Wingers as they are a bunch of twats who rip you off bigtime and have mis-diagnosed my car on two previous occasions and charged me the earth for my pleasure. Do you guys know where I can take my car on a weekend to get the codes read or someone with a OBD code reader? short of doing the old disconnect the battery trick to reset the codes I would prefer the codes read first just in case its something serious

cheers

not sure what you mean flash the codes and no I do not have an aftermarket ECU ... its a 2004 Legacy GTB wagon and I cannot see any codes flashing. All I get is steady check engine light on (sometimes goes away) but the cruise control light is always blinking

That doesn't work on the BL/BP.

Get in the car, shut the door and key off.

The rest has to be done within about 15 secs.

Turn the key to on.

Turn the parklights on (with the headlight switch).

Press the tripmeter button 4 times.

Turn the park lamps off.

Press the tripmeter button 4 times again.

Turn the park lamps back on.

Press the tripmeter button another 4 times.

It should now display the fault code number in the odometer display. Each press of the tripmeter button displays the next fault code.

I'm guessing you're going to have P0031, H02S heater control circuit low (bank 1 sensor 1). Basically means the heater circuit in the front oxygen sensor has burned out.

If you press the trip button 3 times (instead of 4) in the above process, it runs the cluster test sequence. Both are ended by turning the key off. Remember to switch the park lights off too.

      Afternoon team,
im new to the group first time posting. Im hoping some body can help me get my launch control all dialled in on my link g4x. Ive had the computer and car all tuned from chris at prestige awesome knowlegable guy super happy with the results but now im wanting to get my launch/anti lag all dialled in. Ive been reading multiple different forums etc all with different conflicking information which has made me nervious with what do i listen to this or that if you get what i mean. Now ive started to make myself familiar with my PClink software etc the past few weeks and im eager to learn how to do minor setups or tweaks etc so im not relieing on my tuner so much and obviously saving myself abit hurt in the back pocket.
Now back to the question at hand.... Im wondering if theres and one who could please share there knowledge and wisdom with setting all my values, timing, fuel etc when i have launch control armed and engaged, or even a launch tune file they can possibly send me to load onto my tune. Ive figured out the setup of my digital inputs turning launch control on etc and its obvisously on its pre set factory settings. It engages but doesnt sound the greatest or as angry as it should i feel. Hence reaching out to you good buggers.

Cheers in advance for any info and help yous maybe able to give me.

      Cheers Shaun
