Hi, I just bought a new 1999 legacy wagon. 127 000. I dont think the cam belt has been done, so ive booked it in on Monday for this. But twice today, when I was driving it, I reversed and then put it in Drive, but it wouldnt go. The D light was on, so I had the stick in the right place. Drives nicely though, doenst shudder or anything. It just ended up going after going R and P and D a few times, Any clues as to what this may be? Thanks Heaps. Also, how nervous should I be to drive it before the cam belts done? Thanks heaps.

Check fluid level but 99% of the time cause in inside the gearbox

Time for trans surgery !!, trans out but not too major to fix

Not too common but it does happen to the odd one

Fault delayed drive engagement, caused by worn forward clutch seals inside the auto

Cost to remove,repair,refit trans and fill fluids is around the $900+mark

DO NOT take your car to an auto trans shop, they will want to rebuild the entire trans, around $3k

WTF, parts for seal replacement bout $300

Clutch pack if burnt out $150 approx

Labour content unchanged even if clutch pack burnt out at $500

Plus fluid $150 max for top of the line stuff

You are being RIPPED or they are doing something else to your tranny

are they using genuine parts?

I was thinking of getting just the gasket pan seal for my auto trans in my subaru and just that was 146 or more out of Japan?

Parts are bloody expensive since the doller is right down etc. parts worth x3 the price?

front disks for my car is 500 each. so 1000 for the front
