Smoke on startup

Have had my car a little while now, and every now and then it gives a little puff of smoke on startup. Not everytime but enough that I notice it.

Now the car has forged pistons and I have heard a lot of talk about car's with forged pistons doing this and understand the logic behind it eg pistons shrink when cold oil drips through then they expand when engine warms up.

Car has just been tuned and this has made no difference

Does this sound right? Or are my rings worn and on the way out causing the oil the seep through, engine has only done 20tho k's but no doubt a lot of those would have been hard driving is this kind of thing common?

Anyone else having the same problem, a few of the previous threads make me think I might not be the only one

i have forgies and mine does the exact same

it is normal to smoke at start if you got forggies esp JE pistons

Ahh Cool thats a bit of a relief!

Was concerned I would have to spend more money pulling the engine out

it also ticks slightly like bearings is blown or something wrong with the heads that is also normal, once its it all warm up it should go away

Yup is typically loud with piston slap at start up but it goes away once it has warmed up.

Just wasn't sure about the whole smoke thing 8)
