  2. Thought I'd better post a pic of my latest family member, had it a wee while now to be honest but kept pretty quiet about it.. NZ new, second owner and only 77 thou k's now, rust proofed when new so very very tidy, everything works including air ride, digital dash and not a single squeak or rattle while driving. Got a few reliability plans for the EA82T to keep it alive forever (under bonnet air/water intercooler and stainless exhaust plus a few other tricks learnt over the years), but keeping it as standard as possible will be the mantra throughout. Bit of a dream car for me to be honest, i even had the Tamiya model of this exact car/colour/interior as a kid!. Joins my Brumby as a permanent member of the family along with the everyday drivers.

  4. What kind of timeframe were you considering for resolving it? Not sure who’s down that way besides @Joker who tends to only play around with cars almost older than me. He might have an insight into some clued up members/shops in that area I’m somewhat down those ways every month so could sort it on the way through, only takes 10-20mins if things go to plan. How mechanically inclined are you? For the amount of time required to fudge around with it to keep it in place, buying the blockoff plates and deleting the lot isn’t actually that much worse. Means there won’t be any valves open bleeding air/exhaust gases through when not running. You need to retain the atmo sensor which is in the drivers side solenoid as the ECU uses that so without it it never knows if you’re above sea level or not.

  6. 2cents, Subys that I've seen have engine issues on track are usually 'ambitiously' modified/maintained and driven very hard as one would drive an N/A honda (right up near the redline all the time). Generally the standard or mildly modified ones in good nick can cruise around all day no problem.
