yeah odd designs but i guess there made so a pipe can just be jammed from the bumper into the intake side of them without having a poddy out of the engine bay
well i believe it was a bad coil OR maybe i jumped a tooth as when i removed the cam cover it showed the right hand intake and exhaust cams were off about half/ a tooth. but id check ur coils cause i never found out what my problem was because in the spirit of the moment i decided to rip the whole engine out and build a new motor, sorry cant be any help

hey guys. just recently my 1991 rs legacy has developed a miss. it happens in every gear and only when im half throttling or lower. if i floor it the miss goes away but when feathering it the car jiggles/misses pretty bad. codes im getting are just 22 and 24 which comes on then goes off 5mins later and so on. so far i have changed the coils with a mates ones and exactly the same and also have swapped the afm to a recond one but still getting code. and i have been reseting ecu. thanks
It's a 4pin one off a 91 Rs legacy. The multimeter will test the resistance of a component, regardless if the circuit is complete. The test that I was doing was straight out of the haines manual.
from this website: http://www.clarks-garage.com/shop-manual/fuel-06.htm
it has:
Poor power at various RPMs (various throttle positions)
Surging idle
Misfire
Stumble during acceleration
We adjusted it, then tightened it up and it showed 0.7ohms. Then we took it for a drive, the CEL code came back on. So we re-tested it without moving anything and it showed infinite ohms of resistance.
