  1. Would help if you specified what type of car your putting it into..
  2. Almost as bad as risking just saying that... :
  3. The GTB won, but you're right, from the way this sentence is worded - [quote name='leggytt said: the gtb would have pulled away eventually if we had of gone to 140 + but yeah he was half a car length - it does sound like that
  4. Lots of potential causes for that.. AFM is a common cause. Otherwise vacuum hose loose somewhere? Idle control valve?
  5. So this doesn't help? Any symptoms or funny noises?
  6. If that was at me, wasn't meant to be anything offensive, i'm just confused ??? I can understand Joker's cryptic messages about 60% of the time, the rest of the time he's just too clever for me
  7. Go on then, explain that one Mr Cryptic, considering the Legacy won..
  8. People still voting after the fact.. lol. Like trying to place a bet at the TAB after the full time whistle
  9. I dunno, seems a bit pointless. You'd think if the number correlated to something, then you'd still be able to get a list of what that was
  10. I'm the opposite, start to look less like an STI without the spoiler IMO
  11. Bugger, thanks. Guess i'm playing the waiting game until it can go to the mechanic on Tuesday then
  12. Ok, so learnt a few things tonight. First was a bit of a facepalm moment.. realised that light was for an "engine fault", but didn't realise it was the actual check engine light since on my BG legacy it would actually say "check engine". Am i clever or what.. Second being that they made the connectors for checking the fault codes too short, what a bloody pain in the butt! Shoulder was ok, now its sore after that contortionist effort to connect/disconnect the f@#ckers about 4 times (ended up resetting ECU as well) Lastly, people think you're stealing a car when you're in a stupid position, mucking around in the drivers footwell on the side of the road. Anyway, so i've come out of that with nothing really. Flashed long 13, short 9 (even after reset).. wtf does that mean? I assume nothing since there's no such code as 139?! And since it just flashed continuously and then stopped when i did the ECU reset. Or am i doing that wrong too : After all that, i'm thinking this thread is useless, given that i can't provide any useful information as to what could be wrong!
  13. 2002 BH5 GTB 120,000km + Unmodified Oil/filter change ~4000km ago Have hardly been driving the car recently due to shoulder surgery, probably out of action for around 2 weeks just sitting in the driveway. Has now had 2-3 short (5-10min) trips in the last week, and all seemed as usual until tonight when this popped up: (Stolen from the interweb) Seems to run fine still, have only been cruising, no boosting or silly sh*t so not sure what it drives like under pressure yet, didn't want to bust anything even more than it might already be. No funny noises, no smoke. Any suggestions of things i can check myself before calling a mechanic? Bearing in mind i currently have the use of 1.5 arms, and my previous mechanical genius consisted of oil changes and boost gauge install.. so i know where most bits are in the engine bay, but reasonably basic. Will see if any "check engine" codes come up first
  14. Surely depends on the length of the track. 200m acceleration more important, 10km top end more important Didn't realise this was being done on an official drag strip..
  15. Surely depends on the length of the track. 200m acceleration more important, 10km top end more important I'm voting GTB. Only fast fozzie I've been in was the 2004+ STI version
  16. Actually GDB is for version 7-10 (and 11?) and the change in letter is after that, i.e. GDB revision A is a "version 7", GDB revision F is a "version 10". The revision changes are almost year to year, but not quite, it's much more confusing than that, but someone else can probably explain it better. And I think GDB was for STI's, GDA was WRX
  17. Take the black off, carbon fibre bonnets belong on race cars only, and bonnets made to look somewhat like carbon fibre just don't belong IMO. Maybe some people paint them black or matte black just cos they like the look.. but always comes across as trying to be carbon fibre and failing. No offence, each to their own, i'm just not a fan
  18. Nice! Have you had it on the track or is it a weekend driver? Looks tidy
  19. Wow, well if that's true then fair enough. I'm pretty sceptical that those numbers are accurate, but i've got nothing to back that up, so you win I thought the 2L v10 i had was quicker off the mark than the 2.5L as well, but still above 5sec
  20. Really? I'd have to disagree. I test drove a manual BP just before i bought my old V10, and then again when i owned it (thinking i wanted to get more practical) and they were worlds apart in terms of "quickness" Not to say that the BP/BL's aren't great, i'd love one. But no point comparing to an STI of the same era IMO. I know you said "almost", but i still disagree..
  21. Shit, don't like the sound of that.. our son's due in a month and a half!
  22. Are you sure they're Australian?
