  1. Yup they are meant to be smaller, but when comparing to the oil filter it's a pretty tiny system, I think it's done so tight to maximise scavenging at low revs for the highway. I think a nicer formed shape, bit larger in diameter, then openning up after they join into 1 will do the trick. This setup only increases 10% in CSA after the join. And anything afer the 4-1 joint won't make FA difference except on noise. If the regs and your ears could cope, it could all be ditched from under the gearbox back. But I'm just hoping to find the nice bolt-on-premade fix, lol.
  2. So serviced today and snorkelectomy. Lets hope the plugs make a difference. My feelers got 1.8mm gap! And take a look at the exhaust system for those who haven't seen an NA's before. It's soo weedy when compared to the stock one on single turbs like my forester. I think I'm gonna save a few hundy and get a system made from the heads back. Nice and tuned to increase the torque. And after doing the foz's plugs last year, the legacy's are a breeze.
  3. Mines making some mean creaks now. I've thought about the quickrelease bolts for the swaybar mounts. Would that be a wof issue?
  4. 97 STB , 40mm lift, sti sway bars, alloy undertray, IEBC I go all over, When I'm at the mt and it's a closed lift day, I've explored every track I can find near Ohakune. There's an old road that goes parallel to the rail way. Same in National park. Done about 12-15km of the 42nd Traverse from the Owhango end. There's also the lucky fact that I've got keys to some forests around the place and I'm always doing MTB trail work. Done all of riverhead forestry roads and got into some hairy bits in Dome valley. Mostly gravel/forest roads. Some are roads that exist on the map. mostly get out, sprint ahead and scope the land before I drive on. Some pretty rutty stuff where I've had a spotter to tell me where to put the wheels. Some are clay and are summer only tracks. Building up a nice collection of pinstripes on the forester and geting good at reversing up muddy inclines with the mirrors foldedback. Also drive from Helensville to Muriwai everynow and then. Only pics I've got are from last winter. There's one I've been meaning to shoot for a while, if it's nice tomorrow I'll treat you all

you build that for shuttling punters to the 42nd?
  7. and the legal is still 100kmh, but then there's the 'consideration for other road users' to consider.
  8. or checked the number on the box
  9. Are you sure the front and rear diffs match?
  10. That's what it is. Two options, find out what car the new box is from and fit a matching rear diff or. Get the proper box fitted
  11. what happened to the carbon? did it go funny or just bored? I'll have to pay you a visit at work soon, need some stickers on the car for tax reasons.
  12. Eyes are peeled for GTB cat back. Not sure if I'm gonna bother with snorkelectomy, the legacy's have a kind of scoop on the grill and the wheel arch is kind of sealed, so i doubt the bend removal is worth the intake sitting in the guard. Plug/filter/fluids due this weekend, But i'm quite happy that chopping gears like a nutter I'm getting 8.2l/100km compared to the foz's record of 9.3 on open highway and average of 9.8. And I've said it before. Legacies are sooo friggin comfy, Far nicer than my old mans is250
  13. Bit of a thread dredge What size to fit the front and rears of a BH 2002 wagon? They use a funny 3 hole setup i've not seen before, with a crappy foam cone. You reckon a 6.5 setup will go straight in seeing as most mid-range speakers have hole drillings for africa.? Another question. For the rears I was thinking of just installing the woofers and using a crossover to eliminate the hghs, but not installing a tweeter. Just to help with bass in the back. remember this is just the work car. Not out to win Audio awards or throw out 130dB in the local carpark. don't want to add any extras, cut stuff up or do anything I can't reverse. Cheers for any ideas peeps.
  14. It's like each year subarus look more and more like Kea's
  15. I don't want to make a race car. Just liven up the response a little. I've done a 1000km now and it seems to be learning me quite well (or vice versa) and now I don't have to chop gears on hte hills as often and it seems to have more pickup. A 2004 rs is the next one in 2 years. So I'll just stick out the sluggishness and enjoy the foz on the weekends
  16. THis could be ok, but living in the country I'm often in puddles that'd hydrolock my engine before you could say "induction noise"
  17. Subies stats are all done with the vehicle dry. There's over 10l of oil, plus brake fluid, power steering 5l of water, screenwash and a tank of gas to add on to that
  18. Forester's only got 40kg on an impreza. Last year I weighed it at 1470.
  19. My thoughts sofar are a catback off a GTB if they're any bigger than NA. And the thing is 200kg heavier than the foz at 1680 according to the recycle station weighbridge.
  20. Just got an S4, do I need to take it back to installer to program the key fob to open my garage door, or is it something I can do?
  21. Barely, mostly part time, tuesday evening and thurs afternoon this semester
  22. Foz is there but for the weekends. Traded in my old european deathtrap for the legacy. My first legacy and after a week, I reckon it's the comfiest, safest feeling thing to sit in all day at 100kmh. Quite scary though as it has the same wheel and gear knob as the forester and I have to remember it's not the same car and I can't overtake on a whim
  23. instal Parrot ck3100 and band expander. Swept out pie crumbs
  24. I'd only own an auto when my left leg gets chopped off! I figured it'd be breathing mods, was wondering if there was a ecu/chip remap or something. There's also the insurance and running 95ron when going NA over turbo, not just econony figures.
