  1. Hmmm, cool. Brake pads I think I can do. Was going by my gut when I removed the calliper. Didn\'t notice a wear tab? Will try again tomorrow with some better light. Was working by torch light tonight, that\'s just how we roll in the wops, lol.
  2. I noticed a noise coming from the car a couple days ago and immediately thought it was a stone in the brakes. This evening I took the front left wheel off, removed brake pads and looked for stones or anything that may cause the noise. Before I removed the pads I made sure to move the wheel and the noise was definitely coming from that wheel. Anyway, what I noticed was the inner brake pad was worn unevenly, and there were no stones etc. Moved the wheel without the pads in and no noise. Put them back in and what do you know, there it is. So my question is this, could an unevenly worn brake pad be causing this or is it something more sinister. If it is indeed the brake pad, would it imply that the rotor may be the cause of the uneven wear? I know it\'s a bit garbled and all over the place but if anyone can offer advice it\'d be appreciated. Thanks
  3. I had our O2 sensor replaced nearly 90k\'s back and after a diagnostic scan the other day at my mechanics it\'s showing the O2 sensor to be "lazy" as he said. I\'ve had new plugs put in, new air filter etc etc but want to get a new o2 sensor and have that fitted. I can probably do it but what I want to know is what sensor to buy and from where? I know the OEM ones are bastard expensive and if I\'m not mistaken Bosch/Denso make them? It\'s a 2001 Blitzen 4EAT. Thanks guys.
  4. Got new plugs put in and fixed torn steering rack boot, now to get it back to VTNZ for the warrant sticker.
  5. Thanks guys, still planning on doing the struts etc and will be in touch soon.
  6. Only just came across this thread and this ^^^^^ is exactly what I thought. Very very cool looking car, no doubt Subaru will stuff it up before it hits the shelves.
  7. Our shocks on the blitzen are leaking and instead of fucking about getting them refurbished I\'m thinking of getting a second hand set with pink sti springs. Only thing is I\'m clueless and wouldn\'t know where to start. Happy to bring beers and food, whoever helps can keep the old shocks and springs and do whatever they want with them. Probably gonna do it in about 3/4weeks? Cheers.
  8. Awesome. I\'d love to try it myself but would prefer to have someone there that\'s done it before in case I screw up.
  9. Mate, I have zero tools and admit to being mechanically retarded. I\'ve watched a few videos on YouTube but that\'s only confused me more.
  10. Wanted to find out why the handling has changed so much in the last week or so. Had new tyres fitted and thought that might be it but surely not? Jacked it up one wheel at a time and noticed that 3 out of 4 shocks are leaking so I\'m guessing the seals are stuffed? Also took rear spoiler off thinking it might be the source of the leak in the boot, noticed wet patch in there after heavy rain a few days ago. Can\'t see anything anywhere that\'s obvious? On the subject of shocks, how much would it cost to either get the seals redone, or get new shocks fitted? Looking at a set of bilsteins with sti pink springs, about $300 which I think is a bargain, the cost to get them fitted will be the deciding factor?
  11. Nice, gonna see if I can find someone with time and skills to show me how to do the job, CORRECTLY.
  12. I\'ve driven an Evo5, 6, 6.5, 7 & 8 and have to say I was blown away by the Evo8. If I liked the idea of living alone and never seeing my son I\'d get one, lol.
  13. Awesome, I\'ve been thinking of doing this for some time and have been wondering about the foam and glue.
  14. Next question, would I have to get them certed? Also, how difficult to change the existing ones out and install new ones? Mechanic job or something at home? I\'m mechanically retarded so would need help, lots of help! Lol.
  15. Thanks for the link mate, would these do the trick? http://www.subaruspeed.co.nz/products/suspension-strut-set-legacy-98-02-2
  16. Hey all, wondering if there\'s a set of Subaru springs that\'d lower our \'01 Blitzern a little. Not looking to slam it but a little lower would be nice, maybe 20/30mm or so?
  17. Do I need a new sump plug washer? Do I need to remove the underbody protector thing? Etc etc etc.
  18. I have a thing where I learn better doing something than watching it being done.
  19. I really wanna do my own oil change but haven\'t before. I\'d really appreciate someone giving me a hand so I can learn what to do. I would take a chance of doing it on my own but don\'t wanna make a cockup. Cheers guys and girls.
  20. Thanks mate, you\'re talking about the plate with the blue smudge on it ?
  21. I\'d rather be safe than sorry. Is there a jacking point under the engine/front of the car that I can place a trolley jack to lift both front wheels at the same time? I thought there would be a jacking plate of some sort? If there is can someone advise me where exactly. Thanks.
  22. I\'ve seen people lift them and place the axel stands on the rails in the same place you jack it up with the supplied/factory jack, know what I mean?
