  2. For which Police have an exemption in the execution of their duty if urgent. Hasnt that been made clear in 5 pages?
  3. With a complete running setup, you do run the risk of buying a dog though. Its probable yours need a rebuild now, so decent budget with a new bottom end and reco'd top, single turbo conversion? Not a lot of change from 5 grand? Keep the old bottom end and get reco'd perhaps around 3g? Depends what your heart is set on. Im guessing you are prefering to go single turbo / manual conversion. Think of a budget and double it
  4. Either way, if he considered it urgent then there are exceptions in place that allow him to keep driving and not pull over. At the end of the day, like every other person that continues to use phones while they drive they will be held accountable if they crash. If they can prove exceptional reasons for using the phone (like police can do with their job) then they wont get charged. Doesnt mean a lot in the big scheme of things if you are laying in a car wreck at the time....... I know I wouldnt use a cell in a car, if others want to risk it then so be it, but arguing the point of 'awww but they do it' doesnt wash with me. Look after #1.
  5. Im not proposing that they break the law, what I am saying is there are exceptions to the law for police. In the execution of their duty, they are allowed to 'break' certain road rules. Speeding for example. Just because a normal person is only allowed to do a hundy doesnt mean that police are limited to 100 for urgent work. If they break normal laws they can be held accountable if it wasnt urgently required. A picture of a cop on a cellphone means nothing, if he was talking to his mrs about buying some milk after work then he deserves a ticket. He could also be talking about a rape case where the details of which are too sensitive to put over the police radio. Its amazing the amount of shit that one photo can create when you have no idea what he was actually doing.
  6. As above, you have to remember that Police are able to do a lot of things that the public cant do. Its the nature of the job. If you want them to follow all of the same laws that normal citizens follow, then how do they do their job to ensure your safety from those who dont follow the law?? The line has been drawn and its not black and white. Deal with it.
  7. Im sure if a life and death situation was being played out by telephone and an urgent response was required, you would care if he had to pull over to get the finer details. There is an exemption in place for Police for important work purposes. Otherwise I join the "I dont care" club
  8. Who's got a garmin enabled phone or GPS? Just found some cool additions to the vehicle icons :-) Check out http://www.vehiclesforgarminnuvi.com/ Under 'racing cars' you can choose a 555 as your vehicle icon. All sorts of sweet cars can be added
  9. I would pass and keep looking. If it feels like a dog, then dont buy it thinking itll be a quick fix
  10. Yeah nice I sorta tossed up between gold and black. Gold just seemed so cliche on subarus though ;-) Black on black is nice too, but you need some sort of gold showing through from the calipers! I aint selling mine to nobody! love em, just a shame the rears are such a bitch to get on, had some but didnt go through with installing them. Kicking myself now
  11. I dont think Ive got any 'arty' shots of the blitzy, Ill have to use this as a place holder for the mean time
  12. Im hard pressed to say there is any difference in economy between the 2 modes though, so I just leave it in power.....
  13. Signifies the auto trans is in one of 3 modes - hold / normal / power 'Power' changes the shift points supposedly to a more 'sport' mode up the rev range
  14. Id go for a good set of springs on top of the bilsteins (Assuming they dont need a rebuild) Cheaper and for the street, will work pretty much as well
  15. Now that I would buy - great price. Dammit, where was it a year ago...
  16. Not a fan of the Zerosports, been there done that... With the twin, theres 3 options. The 3rd being the best as it opens up better tuning possibilities a) Learn to drive around the VOD b) Try to fix the VOD c) Insert single
  17. Im lost..... : You have a 98 and you want to downgrade to a 94?
  18. For sure, they were ok when I pulled them off .They only came off for the brembos and had only done 60k. Odd that it happened, I guess ideally itd be nice to see them re machined for free to find out Anyways........ braking better than before? :-)
  19. S401 : http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,5252.0.html Spec C : Yep, not liking the kit....
  20. According to the motoring reports Ive read, yes. However for a mere 22-25g it sounds like you can confirm that for us ;-)
  21. For sure. It supposedly fixed all of the TT's issues and should have been the car that subaru first made as the TT. It demonstrated how flexible a twin touring motor could be.
  22. You kinda miss the point. This is an sti version of a touring car. Its an improvement on the breed. Back in the days of the tt, this was a top of the line model. With hindsight its easy to look back, however these things are still exclusive (with 401 produced) and had way better performance than the standard B4. In saying that though, that one isnt what I would call a prime example both in age and a bad colour......
