  1. My opinion on swapping plugs on airbags is that even if the light on the dash behaves, there is no guarantee that the airbag will deploy correctly... so the only reason to swap the plugs is to pass a WOF inspection. It's a bit like wearing a second hand helmet.
  2. Just put a roll cage in and then you can remove the airbags.
  3. I have just remembered that I used my v6 sti wheel on my bg5 for a while... the airbag wiring was different, and I was too chicken to mess with it. Everything else worked fine though.
  4. Why be dumb at all? just look at the part numbers http://www.jp-carparts.com/
  5. Are there any engine bay pics or turbo details?
  6. Unless you are prepared to spend $$$ on maintenance and can work on it yourself... walk away.
  7. not really a detail at all joker... just some hypocrisy. I would actually love a good condition XT, just no room or funds for more than one recreational vehicle unfortunately.
  8. yes on the bracket. ordered a new one from partsouq but the amount of delays I'm having is really frustrating.
  9. ****ed the Cambelt tensioner thread so no progress this weekend 😬
  10. Not heard of them personally. Diesel and Turbo in Petone have a good reputation.
  11. Close, but it actually gives you an extra 10% retardation. I say "extra" because driving a Subaru already gives you 50% retardation.
  12. It's like blaming the victim of a Lion attack for jumping into the Lion enclosure at the Zoo. No, wait...
  13. True, I have been using the 2004 STi manual for general engine stuff. There are some differences to watch out for though.
  14. The jolly green monster guy died... not sure about gen kilbert. Maybe someone is killing all the gc8 manual posters.
  15. all ken gilbert links are broken. I think he died a while back and the site is not being maintained... or maybe that's the jolly green giant site.
  16. Seems like a really bad design... Dissapointed this thing is needed.
  17. Yes cheap but I don't want to wait a week for it. Will try my luck at Waiuku first.
  18. Was also told that all manuals needed them to stop the belt jumping on a down shift ... But just spent 45 mins in the rain at p-a-p and the only car I managed to get the pulley and covers off of didn't have one!!! Bg5 twin turbo manual.
  19. I don't have one... not sure if it's just because one of the previous retarded owners left it off or otherwise. Any other STi owners not have one?
  20. exactly, it's purely for looks... but just adds weight.
  21. Not OEM gear. No 98 Type R had Brembos.
