    Yes, it is.

Normally between 120-150k they let go. Bad piston rings, blowby carbon build up floats the bigends.

Like, 500km post oil change, the oil is almost diesel black.

Mine let go at 110 k

Have you got research on hand on this? Doesnt make heaps of sense would like to know more.

Well if you're spending all that $$ anyway, may as well spend an extra $300 and get a fancy flywheel. They are a tiny bit S*** to drive in stop-go traffic as it's easier to bog the car and stall, but when you rev-match a downshift with a light flywheel it's quite a beautiful thing.

I had a light one circa 4kg ish and loathed it as a daily. Couldnt see any merit to it tbh. Hated the way it died on casual downshift and coming to a stop.

  3. Pretty straight forward just follow your nose and make sure you keep track of how youre pulling it apart. Half the case will come off leaving the gearsets etc in the other. Think the drivers side is the side that lifts off.

When splitting the cases hit a solid spot on the rim with a rubber mallet rather than smashing a screwdriver between the faces. When reselling use a thin smear of silicon so it doesn't squeeze any excess into the box.

@TNHSTI it's quite common to tune first. You can gain a lot of fuel efficiency and performance over the generic stock tune without any mods.

@west_minist charges very reasonable rates for a remote tune. Not sure how the re-tune once modified would work in terms of cost.
    Would be interesting to know.

The only point in tuning first is to quantify gains which only matter if you need to justify $ spent to yourself or you are compensating for something 😉
