  1. I\'m running Penrite Fully Synthetic HPR5 5W-40 in Christchurch in my RSK B4 - doesn\'t have any oil pressure issues (Have an HKS gauge - dead stable readings above idle to redline). Running Subaru Genuine filter and change every 10k - engine just about to tick over 150,000 B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  2. \'Samco\' hoses arrived today - tidy looking - now which one goes where? Lol B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  3. Are they actually Samco? Always find it amusing when someone list an item, clearly branded item, but wouldn\'t mention a brand name in their listing (tells me fake straight away), especially if they\'re a manufacturer ??? Probably copies re: top hose - I had a bit of a look on the Mackay rubber site (aussie manufacturer) and I\'m hoping EJ207/ Ver 7 Sti has same hose as JDM B4 as they \'appear\' the same. If not, trip down to Repco might be in order! ( Car fitted with HKS temp-probe adaptor fitting so mach one eyeball and stanley knife to make one fit!) Had a squiz at the car yesterday and noticed it was fitted with a plastic-topped aluminium core rad - is this standard for B4\'s? Hose on bottom seems to be after market.... B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  4. Bought new SAMCO radiator hose kit (EJ207 kit) from USA (read- hong kong lol) via ebay (ttfitting). Hoping it gets here soon! Link to ebay seller EJ207 Radiator Hose kit 11 piece B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  5. OEM, STI Genome, Apexi World Sport2: This is why the Genome caused an instant power drop (also raised engine temps by 10 degrees), bottle neck at the flange taking internal diameter down to 42mm. OEM pipe is straight 52mm internal, Apexi WS2 is 58mm. My midpipe is 58mm. Apexi left, Genome right: I need to massage the Apexi mounts to get it to sit straight and stop knocking, but it sticks out past the bumper by 15mm, the Genome was 15mm short. The Apexi is the same tip width, but it\'s slightly oval, so sits higher and fits the bumper better (or will once brackets are fixed): Edit: Ive tried bending the muffler brackets but I\'m going to break a weld, so it\'s come off and back to the little OEM for now. Going from Genome to Apexi I got power back and block was 10 degrees cooler. Thanks for info - noted for future ref! I have a Fujitsubo turbo-back with (equal-ish) headers , but a factory up-pipe (dunno why they didnt just shell out and replace that too!) wondering what kinda internal restrictions I may have hidden under the heat wrap....

  7. Hey All, Driving home from airport this morning at 330am noticed 2 dodgy as dudes hanging around cars parked between Copthorne Hotel (CHRISTCHURCH) and Russley Rd on Memorial Drive across from Golf course. Called in boys in blue - at least 2 cars broken in to that I could see. Sped off in a Pajero and a Van of sorts (was on the phone to the cops so didnt get rego). DONT park around airport roads esp McD\'s - spoke to police - it\'s a hotspot apparently... Stay safe!
  8. Hmm interesting - I have similar trim\'s on my \'01 B4 here. Do negative values indicate an overly rich or lean condition? I think I\'ll need to return to stock boost or get it tuned properly with the EBC I have running the show....Anyone know whether TT setup on 3rd Gen have restrictor pills plumbed into the primary Boost line?
  9. Subaru upper cylinder cleaner as per instructions - BP Ultimate 98 must have some serious cleaning agents in it cos I got no smoke out the exhaust end at all ?!?! (although exhaust had funky smell thats for sure!) - anyone got a borescope with a light ? - be interested to have a look inside combustion chambers! 10. Washed it and Rain-X\'d windows. Anyone know an easy way to get engrained water-spots off glass? ( And yes - Already chamois\'d it dry ) B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  11. I see what you\'ve done with the secondary air control valve there - very clever! - did you tweak the secondary exhaust valve or is it at factory stroke length?
  12. Whats the going rate for knock sensors these days?
  13. Pulled up pax side carpet and discovered I have a Denso ECU 1X in my B4 Took a photo of it and put carpet back....whiskey time
  14. Worked a charm thanks mate!!

  17. Around $48 retail for new sensor from Armstrong Subaru CHC - ask for Leighton and tell him you\'re a Clubsub member and he may be able to help with price B4_685 via Tapatalk HD
  18. Took car for a drive with new coolant sensor - much more linear response when cold and part-throttle. No more surging and hesitation Smiled cos it\'s not making the scraping noise from idler any more. Cleaned pollen off car....then cleaned dusty engine bay with hose and dust-pan brush - amazing how much dust and grime accumulates under-hood! Closed eyes and started engine (expecting a CEL cos I wet everything)....smiled again cos it didn\'t miss a beat! Winning
