  1. K325 is the model number iirc. They also fit the SG9 Forester which I had them on prior to that. The mounts come with a few bits to allow for different variation on a few vehicles.
  2. I bought the Pro Rack P-Bars. Definitely the cheapest model made by Pro Rack and they are great. Main use is for kayaks. The best thing about them is that you can buy different fitting kits for different vehicles so theoretically only costing $60-$70 if you buy a new car instead of tracking down a whole new set of bars. I haven't looked at a lot of other options though so pretty limited knowledge otherwise.
  3. Seen that one around before as well... not idea who owns it but it is absolutely mint! I do have a buddy down south with an s203 though.
  4. Got a new key for it, the spare got pinched which sucked. Can't believe how expensive these damn things are now.
  5. ^Kept seeing that on Trademe for a while, god I wish I had the coin for it!
  6. And what did you buy...? Btw... that GF8 cleans up real nice!!
  7. My particular whine/hum isn't affected by revs and fades away after 5 mins or so but is really loud when you first turn the radio on. I'm definitely all for the ground loop issue but its just all a bit weird...
  8. Nah haven't bothered. I bought it purely as a daily with no intention to spend money on it, plenty quick as it is but have heard people get some good results from the reflash.
  9. Went to see Bindons. Didn't pay them to actually pull it apart, just showed them the issue to see if they had an idea and all I saw was potential for a big bill for a problem that as annoying as it is... isn't annoying enough for a big bill. Will have to have a yarn to Autotech then.
  10. Thanks! Yeah, so same problem then. I have pulled it all out, re-earthed the unit, alternator is giving healthy numbers so really can't work out where the issue is. Let me know if you find a fix and I'll do the same but I've kind of given up for now. One of these is on the "to get" list though... http://www.aboutsound.co.nz/anycar-units/#itemId=5580ab8ae4b07ca0ea569931 Plugs straight into the back, no messing around - much better than forking out some $600+ for a new fascia, re-wiring the front door speakers and removing the amp under the passenger seat etc etc.
  11. Does the stereo only whine on the radio setting and goes away after 10 mins of driving or so?? I have the same stereo with this problem so would interested to know if someone else is having a similar issue. Again, auto-electrician couldn't find the problem and that was after I checked everything I could think of.

    I'm so curious now...
  13. I'll always be a fan of Single Din units. Unless a reversing camera is on the agenda or you like to watch movies in the car (which normally require the handbrake on for insurance purposes so you can't drive when its on anyway), I fail to see much of a point to the Double Din units available. Touch screen is nice I guess but when driving I like the tactile feel so I know what I'm pushing without actually looking at the unit. If it were my money, I'd be buying a single din headunit and spending the difference on nicer speakers or a nicer amp. It also means you have a free unit for space which in the BH5 I found quite useful as there weren't any other spots I liked to chuck my wallet etc. Can't give an opinion on the headunits you have put there though, haven't looked into them at all, although I am partial to Pioneer's products.
  14. It's a BP/BL Legacy mod. Fits perfectly where the Jap Nav unit normally sits. Use a Bluetooth OBD-II adapter, get the app and go for it.
  15. I think the Rage stuff is still available but it costs quite a bit more, never really looked into it after I got my GeNome axle back.
  16. Tried to buy one for my SG9 (same shape as SG5) and they are no longer made I was told but they still haven't removed it from their website. Pretty dumb! I was basically told to buy the WRX system and have custom changes made, extend the downpipe etc etc. At that point I really couldn't be bothered.
  17. Mine ran 14psi and was fully stock, pretty sure 240kw is a bit high for stock as well.
  18. K&D Automotive on Kelvin Street. Got them to do a chunk of work on my old legacy when I lived down there and always had evo's, rx7's, wrx's etc being worked on so it looks like a lot of other people use them. Would be worth a yarn anyway, really nice people.
  19. Yeah its a bit over priced, it might sell for that much but he'll be waiting a while, especially when you can pick up a sub 100,000km GRB STi from a dealer for almost less than that. But it is exactly what I'll be buying when I get back into the expensive market again. It looks like a stunner! Edit: Referring to the v8 STi link on previous page
  20. The Forester was great. Definitely hard to come by so it was tough handing over the keys but needed the extra coin back. Performance wise it was great though, but definitely different the WRX STi. Handling was great for a small SUV style car, the 2.5l engine paired with the smaller vf41 turbo meant the power delivery wasn't as aggressive though. It was certainly fast but didn't leave you sucked back into your seat like the WRX can when you really go it. Would definitely own one again but a version 8 WRX STi really is my dream car.
  21. I just went from a 2004 Forester STi to a 2004 BP5 3.0R Auto... I'm actually really impressed, still has somewhere around the 240-250hp mark and pulls like a train. I do miss having the control of the manual trans though, the tiptronic does have a bit of latency and feels lazy. But zero complaints from me having had it only a week.
  22. Bumping to see if anyone else knows? Google hasn't proven to be very helpful.
  23. Of course they disable all the fun bits... Ah well.
