  1. Finally got the cambelt done. Now i can think about getting a tune for it (:
  2. I thought the hose 10 mod was more just to stop some of the boost being bled off so basically just raised the peak boost amount. Didn't think it really did much to the vod. Look into rossub's bbod thread. The restrictor pill mods would be the best bet for reducing the vod short of going a zerosports sequential controller. Have a read up on this thread, bloody interesting stuff in there http://clubsub.org.nz/forum/showthread.php?40911-Inside-the-BBOD And aren't all be/bh tt's 294mm front rotors. Mine was atleast. So fronts will be sweet but things get messy if upgrading the rears
  3. That sucks. Dreading the day mine gets its first carpark door dent
  4. Finally sussed out my crackly reception on the radio. Found the muppet who installed the band expander had just wrapped the expanders 12v feed wire around the headunit feed and added some nice loose electrical tape. Re did it with a proper connector and 'poof' the problems gone
  5. Yea the car had a factory sub so i'm just re using those wires. So you're saying both +ve's to the wiring +ve and both -ve's going to the wiring -ve. Makes sense actually. Probaly should have thought of that myself /:
  6. Got a dumb audio questions Bought a high to low level converter, using it to get a signal to the new sub. The rca output is just left and right which makes sense but the high level input has left +ve and -ve, right +ve and -ve which has me a bit stumped as the stock sub has the expected +ve and -ve. Should i go across from left +ve to right -ve like bridging two channels on an amp or something else??
  7. Oh mint. For that price whats the harm if it doesn't work. Official subaru kits were a damn lot more than that.
  8. Haven't done it myself so wouldn't know really but my 4th gen with a vf45 is just a completely different beast, runs out of puff at the top end a bit though, but anything from a TS sti wouldn't have that issue. Rossub's build and some of the older how to's would be the best thing to follow
  9. You mean just the one subaru does that plugs into the back of the headunit? Talked to the local subaru dealer to try get one who had no idea what i was on about so they got some other subaru nz guy who "apparently" knows all about this stuff to look into it. He came back saying the first year of the facelift mcintosh units didn't have the option for it as for some reason it didn't work with the headunits, which was fixed for the 2007 onwards units. Could be a load of crap but don't really want to go buy one and find they were actually talking the truth.
  10. Finally getting round to hooking up the real sub in the new car
  11. These kits are sounding less and less ideal. Starting to wonder if its even worth doing. Might just have to live with it for now and get a surround and headunit in the next few months.
  12. The old car had a bluetooth headunit and that was awesome, perfect sound, but want to stay with the stock headunit in this one for the next year or so until i can afdord a full system swap. Thinking big $$$ this time around since i'll hopefully be keeping the car till it dies.
  13. I thought it was 2010. Was asked by me here a month or so back in this thread. Page 378 actually has the link to the lvvta site
  14. Looking at getting one of the anycar audio integration boxes. The ipod input doesn't support lightning apple stuff so wondering if the usb port with a lighnting iphone attached would allow skipping songs and pausing and all that. Also is the quality for bluetooth music streaming good or not worth the extra cost for that model? Hoping a couple of you out there have had a crack at using these at some point (; Had a chat with mad sounds about what they do and they had an axxess kit http://axxessinterfaces.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=7 Not such a fan since it has no control possibility for changing songs and the likes.

  16. Definately the right choice there. Twin scroll single turbo's are worlds ahead of the TT's. Assume you're going sti twinscroll?
  17. Meets for audio enthusiasts i'd guess? Could be keen for a blast over the hill sometime
  18. Its a shame ay. The smaller black ones they get in oz look primo
  19. Only if it was first registered after some time in 2010. Well not so much illegal as just need a cert for it
  20. Yea jeremy has a black v8 out their now. Not sure how well it runs though. Has been there for a while now.
  21. Surely pf auto or rapt would lend you one of theirs (;
  22. **** and i thought 800 was on the heavy end
