  1. In regards to the Torque readings, have a look at Koom's post in here. http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,17549.45.html
  2. That was just from our local tyre store up here in Dargaville (Gas & Tyre Services). Most likely find a better deal if you look around.
  3. I just put a set of Neuton NT5000's on my Ute and they seem like pretty decent tyre's so far. Miiiiiiles better then the crappy Triangle brand tyre's that they replaced. Not quite as good as my t1r's on the WRX though. Toyo put there prices up apparently so they were too expensive for just the Ute. Mine were $155 incl fitting and balance for 235/45/17's
  4. This may help. http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,1569.0.html I know with GC8's you need the headers and sump to go with it aswell (sump gets in the way of the twin scroll headers). V7 should be the same as GC8 with that part I would of thought?
  5. When you say you have a v7 engine now, do you mean just the block out of a v7 or heads etc as well?
  6. Got a mate that wired up his 1UZ into his hiace and will do for me with factory ecu and lexus box, Mounts can be bought off trademe, then all the little gay s*** but more than capable of doing the majority if not all of it at home myself so wouldnt be 2 bad. His one cost him $4k doing majority himself. Heaps more expensive if you pay a shop and run a link though Yea I worked it out to be about $5-5.5k to do the conversion myself with a w55-w59 G/B + bell housing adapter etc. So your about right if your planning to use the Auto, which won't be as much fun And yea worked out about 3.5k on if you went Link G4 + tuning costs. And about 5k in labour if you paid someone to do it all for you. In the end it just worked out cheaper to buy one with all the hard work etc done.
  7. Doooo eeeet! Although it is defo not cheap by any means. Buying the engine is pretty cheap but all the rest of the mucking around adds up quite fast.
  8. WRX: Cleaned the interior. Hilux: Got some new tyres fitted so I can accelerate in the wet.
  9. Pro Wholesale (club sponsor) sell walbro's. Can't remember the price. As for split rails. I was told the same thing by Gary Capper as to what WRXONP is saying. He had tuned plenty of 300kw+ Subaru's on standard rails. IMO though it is a fairly cheap mod to do and will give you peace of mind at the end of it, so why not.
  10. Not a Subaru but my Hilux is at 425,000kms, engine replaced 20,000kms ago. As far as I know it was the original engine that did the whole 405,000kms. Was the 22re 2.4 petrol fwiw. My Subaru is at 125,000kms and on it's 5th engine.
  11. FWIW my max ever intake temp was 38°C according to the Link. Most likely was being stuck in traffic on a stinking hot day. Can't see this temp being affected by the reverse scoop but thought some people may find that interesting.
  12. This is why I did it also. Haven't been for a drive yet with the laptop plugged in to see if it aids intake temps. Was at 18°C avg while moving at 100kmh on a 17°C day with the scoop facing forwards. No idea when I'll be using the car next, but will report back when I do.
  13. Did this last week. Found a scoop to butcher up off TM for $40. As said it's not that great up close, but I did it more for function rather then looks anyway.
  14. Could buy my car. Thinking of selling soon. Has everything mentioned above except the Coupe part.
  15. you said it bro +1 on that, the title says NZ's Fastest not fastest car in a one car class loooooool not many people can take you on that challenge because i dont think there that many 91 wagons left its 2011 now mate most of your wagons are parked at Pick A Part go race them i think you actually have the fastest 4 door gc8 though. don't think any 4 doors have cracked the 10 and you're pretty close. There is this one here. Not as much power as R8TD_R's but it did make the 10's http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/specialist-cars/competition-cars/auction-385882648.htm
  16. Mines the fastest car in NZ... ...with my exact number plate.
  17. I ended up deciding on a Hilux with a 1uzfe (v8). At least later in life when I get a track car I've sorted the tow vehicle out haha. Going to look at one this weekend and most likely be driving it home.
  18. Same here. peaks at about 21-22psi at low revs and comes back to about 20psi fairly quickly and holds right though at 20.
  19. Was thinking the same thing tbh. With a stealth front mount behind the grill somewhere where you can't see it. I'd never both but it tbh but would be kinda cool in a way to see it done.
  20. I managed to get 630kms to a tank (50 ltr tank) the other day, 20kms were on the fuel light. Was a fairly stressful last 90 kms, I found out that the fuel gauge can sit bellow E for about 70kms before the fuel light actually comes on. Was getting worried it didn't work for a while there. I blame the stupid Navman for taking me random back roads without fuel stations for the last 150 odd kms lol. That was with a Link G4 and some pretty fuel efficient driving 99% of the time. Edit: Just worked out the L/100 km. 49L / 630 x 100 = 7.77L per 100km Hmm I'm pretty sure my tank is 50L too, so that's cutting it dam fine haha :-\
