  1. Oh hell yes! Hope that makes it over here.
  2. Does it not just taste like a cordon bleu? It's essentially the same ingredients. Edit: Oh no, forgot about the 11 herbs and spices haha
  3. Ah so was that your car Simon that was parked over near the wall of the Gymkhana pad?
  4. Yea probably won't have the VF34, but it could have the Ver8 STi VF37
  5. Car was tuned by Gary Capper. I bought an adapter loom from another company to go from the Ver5 loom to the G4 at the ECU end, but it never came with a wiring diagram or anything and when I checked over the wiring there were a few things wrong with it anyway, may as well have done it myself. Re-wired the engine side of things myself (Ver8 engine to Ver5 loom), also AVCS, boost solenoid, air temp etc. If I did it again I'd probably not do it this way, was a lot of mucking around going from Ver8 engine to Ver5 loom to G4 adapter loom and then separate loom for AVCS. Probably better off making whole new looms and wiring the engine straight to the G4. Would be super tidy this way as well.
  6. Out of interest what does a re-flash cost these days? I've done a similar conversion to mine except I went with a Link G4, was about $800 to get it tuned. But at least doing it your way you don't HAVE to get a re-flash. Where as if you used a Link you pretty much HAVE to get a tune, unless you are confident at road tuning it yourself.
  7. Hmm, out of interest does anyone know what year/version they started changing them for the Singapore domestic market? My Ver5 STi RA states that it was imported from Singapore, but so far everything is exactly how it is suppose to be in comparison to the JDM versions. Has anyone seen a Ver7 that is 'Singapore spec'?
  8. That's one way to get on TV I guess haha. Suppose there isn't really anything else to do in palmy is there?
  9. I used Total Lithplex TAC Ep2 Grease. Was about the best stuff I could find at the time. Rang Autolign and they said it was good stuff to use. This was the crap that came out, same consistency as butter. That was @ 120,000kms.
  10. Maximum traction for when you drive like this haha
  11. They're still trying to seal up in Northland, it's a bloody mess atm. No point washing cars that's for sure. One decent size piece was on SH1 even. And don't even get me started about my road haha, nothing being done atm but man I've seen some shocking shit go down.
  12. Yea they are usually fine at speed but it's how you open it. She unlatched it slightly, then the wind ripped it out of her hands, wind/momentum did the rest of the work and left a nice small dent in the roof as well. If you open it holding it firmly you won't have any problems.
  13. Really sucks when you already have one, and then your gf opens the latch at 100km/h and snap's the latch. Been looking for a replacement one for aaaaages. All go for a fortune when they do pop up.
  14. Gave the car an oil change. Now it's ready for my 700km road trip to Palmy North on Friday.
  15. Here's mine with a VF37. Wasn't rev'd right to the end of the rev range but you get the idea.
  16. Oh well at least if anyone asks what they're meant to be envious of, you can say the fuel bill.
  17. Have a search around on NASIOC, there's a few EZ30R-T/TT builds on there.
  18. Ver8 STi Engine, FMIC, Larger intake pipe under intake manifold, 3" TBE, Link G4 wire in.
  19. How do you mean 'stop at that power'? It was all we could really get out of 95 Octane without running into trouble.
  20. Make : Subaru Model : Ver5 STi RA with Ver8 STi engine + Link G4 Year: 1999 Name of Dyno : Gary Capper Performance Date of run : 25 Feb 2011 235.8 kw atw on 95 Octane (no 98 in Northland)
  21. Boost seems to hold fairly steady, rises smoothly to about 19-20 and slowly comes back to about 18 by 7000rpm or so from what I remember. Haven't driven the car that much yet though so will have to take more notice next time. Ohk so a trip back to GCP to get him to change boost curve, sounds easy enough. As far as I know he did.
  22. Version 8 STi complete engine and VF37 Turbo FMIC BOV is GFB Basic Link G4 ECU 3" turbo back exhaust. Seem to get a lot of compressor surge when it's building boost on WOT from about 3500rpm-4000rpm. Only happens on high boost (19psi). When on low boost setting (14PSI) it's perfectly fine. Once your over about 4000-4500rpm it runs fine also. Was getting a small amount of compressor surge when coming off throttle lightly also, loosened BOV spring pressure and that fixed that problem but made the surge on throttle/wot seem worse, to the point where it felt like a miss (compressor stall?). Only happened once so far. Have done a fair bit of searching but from what I understand the BOV shouldn't really cause WOT/on boost type compressor surge, right? So whats causing it? Note: Engine has done about 40,000kms, bought 2nd hand and put into my GC8 which was been running since last week, tuned by GCP. Has been doing this problem since then. So can't put it down to a recent mod causing it. Edit: Also should note engine was tuned on 95 octane also (can't get 98 in Northland)
  23. It's a long shot, but do you have a turbo timer? Heard of quite a few of these going bung and draining batteries, i've had this problem myself before.
