  1. / any decent panelshop.. we do it all the time at work
  2. What about added reinforcement around the area where you drill. (like welding 3mm plate around the hole) nah mate certain parts of a car are made to crumple in a Crash (crumplezones) by drilling holes , cutting peaces out or welding bits it you are either weakening or strengthening them , the inner guard is a zone for frontal damage, (headons) and is structural
  3. It is illegal to drill/enlarge any holes in structural areas... saying this it does not stop people doing so, and most get away with it if done tidy.. But no its not legal..
  4. Just make a pipe from turbo that sticks out the guard..
  5. Factory rear muffler? If so theres your problem, i have have full straight through 3'' in my wrx from downpipe to rear , Relly depends why you define loud i guess
  6. Sweet thanks mate, as im doing it il chuck up bit of a guide with some pictures, I see theres a thread on her covering doing split with the two right rails but not on using two lefts or aftermarket rails, so might be of use to someone..
  7. ahh i see what you mean, but yeah would be a bit of mucking around, adaptors would be alot faster.. Well the way i was planning on pluming it the same as this setup ..
  8. Hard lines you mean the ones under the manifold that go to rails? if so there long gone all i have now is aftermarket rails with decapped injectors, to bigger fuel lines that have -6 fittings on ends , and the 3 factory fuel lines in engine bay, Another thing the vaccume for the Fpr what vac line should i use? is the one off the manifold alright ? or should i get something closer to turbo?
  9. yeah man thats what i made up but a rangier version.. surely theres a better way of doing it though?
  10. Okey so brought new side feed rails billet alloy ones, the have -6 fittings on either ends and running a tomie fpr, who has a similar setup? my Question is how did you go about adapting the factory lines to fit in with the bigger aftermarket lines? as mine a quite alot bigger I m running -6 fitting on the Fpr aswell.. Saw the thread on split rail mod but it don't really help me as to how the bigger lines were mated to the stock ones..
  11. as long as its manual I wouldn't worrie, i had a non turbo Bc5 towed a wrx on a trailer from wellington to napier all went well untill i got to napier went to reverse the trailer up our drive, its not steep at all.. and poped my reverse.. :-\
  12. Hey mate, Flick me a Pm when you up, happy to sort something out, Cheers
  13. yeah thats the only down fall as a link is alot more tested/widely used setting them up and working with them is alot easier, there are other ecu's that may be cheaper , but then you buy the required sensors / get a decent tune, might well have brought a link 2 start with.. this is whats always put me off .. each for there own tho
  14. Iv always thought about getting 1 of these.. http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/performance/electronics/auction-509972494.htm
  15. I would check your alternator could be on its way out or p/s pump , even take off your Auxillary belt and try it out with it off , and see if it still makes it
  16. Yes i realise that, But the fuel has to go through the rail before it hits the injectors.. And the piping between the injectors on the standard rails are pretty tiny.. as they Are made for the flow rate of the factory injectors.
  17. great minds ae I disagree that modified standard 1s flow the same as after market billet ones.. Why not spend money on both? parts that look good and have the gain?
  18. yeah mate thats the ones, Apart from that had no issues with them? what lines are you running , braided?
  19. Pmed you mate , once i get a g4 and running my forged closed deck factory regs/ injectors arnt going to cut it.. So may as well invest in a decent fuel setup instead of going on the cheap..
  20. Need some advice, looking at running aftermarket fuel rails V5 what brand rails have you guys got are there certain ones to keep away from? seen these on Tm http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/subaru/engines/auction-503814998.htm Thoughts? Cheers
  21. for now yeah mate, but then again im still trying to decide if i should just go all out and buy some aftermarket rails and run a after market reg..
  22. Looking for a right fuel rail for a V5 manifold, Phase 2 type With factory reg of course. as im doing split setup while i have my manifold out , anyone got one laying around?
  23. Early wrx ra? have factory Td05 right?
