  1. I\'m trying to suss out all the bushes for my BE5 and I am not sure what the difference is between: 55 or 60mm long Front lower inner front bushes. Does it matter which length they are? And also 25 or 30mm steering rack bushes? The rear seems to be a bit more straight forward. Anyone recommend where to buy Nolathane or Whiteline or equivalent?
  2. You usually get rubbing at the front of the rear wheels first so rolling won\'t be a major. I have 225/40/18s on 18x7.5 +45 wheels and I have a tiny rub at the back, I just need to roll it in a bit. 215/45/18 on a 45-50 offset rim should be fine. 7.5 or 8" wide rim would be perfect for that tyre.
  3. If it\'s a BH or BP then +40 or +44 will need guard rolling with a 225 tyre and probably 215 as well. +44 will be the best fit though and will be okay with a 225 with minor rolling. It\'s not the width of the wheel that really matters it\'s the offset and tyre size.
  4. Just get one that doesn\'t look worn out and has no oil leaks. Other than that it should be fine. I have only had basic stuff fail on my BP5, nothing to worry about.
  5. Im in Auckland. If you have any tips to read the ECU I would be very appreciative. I have managed to datalog off the ECU but I can\'t download the rom at all...
  6. Grab the downpipe from subtech first. Then sort the rest of the exhaust.
  7. Nice, I just ran a can of Threebond engine conditioner through mine. Was prepared for epic smokescreen, but got nothing lol. Car ran real chunky will I was spraying the stuff though.
  8. Good luck even if you have a tuneable ECU, I spent ages trying to dump out my ECU with no success Interesting thread though, I might have to pill my #1 hose. I replaced all the hoses from my BBOD yesterday plus added the bigger intercooler hoses and the car seems to run a little better. I haven\'t been entirely happy since the FMIC install but it\'s slowing getting better. I think I really need to decat the exhaust.
  9. Google Rage exhausts, they make downpipes to suit. I believe drivenperformance can supply them ~$600. I\'m planning on doing something to mine soon.
  10. Another Q, couldn\'t the engine plate be swapped over from the existing mount to the new one?
  11. A GTB will tow a trailer no problems. GTB has a shed load more mid range torque.
  12. I assume the STI HD mounts here would do as well? http://www.possumbourne.co.nz/Engine-and-Parts.html
  13. That\'s some good info! Thanks a bunch, think I will get on to this sooner rather than later now
  14. I will be needing to replace mine mounts in the near future as the driveline knocks around terribly. Not sure how hard of a job it is so might end up having to pay a guy hah. To confirm, any engine mount should fit?
  15. Yep I had the HKS intake resonator on mine. No difference to power that I could tell. Exhaust and tune is about all you can do performance wise without going $$$. Even then you aren\'t going to get huge gains.
  16. No point on a 98-02 model. They all have single exhaust and retro fitting a dual exhaust would look pretty rude.
  17. Like the WRX, not the STI. The hatch version is still the best looking STI.
  18. Got the FMIC installed on the Legacy. I think it might be leaking somewhere as it doesn\'t seem to boost as strongly on the secondary turbo... More fiddling required.
  19. Yep can definitely reflash for a decent amount of extra drivability and efficiency. . Power gains aren\'t spectacular but that\'s to be expected with non-turbo vehicles.
  20. To throw another log on the fire: I would prefer manual for everything except city stop start traffic. Cruising, open road driving, fanging around I prefer manual.
