  1. I freaking love my h6 5eat in the outback. But auckland traffic made me think twice. I now just want a run off the mill 2.0 dohc or sohc 4eat. Just can not justify the 7.6 km per liter thing in auckland traffic.. If only outbacks has a manual option that will improve on things..
  2. Thanks for the info ross! Tried to remove the rubber sheat around the wire and there was a pole stickig out and got my soldering iron and got on to it! Legend ross thanks for the help!
  3. I just cleaned the dc motor (not prying them open) with degreaser then electronics cleaner (maf cleaner to be exact) And yeah i did not remove the window guide. I spent about 5-10 mins trying to get the thing in again but was easy to take out. But its doable.
  4. Good day guys! We finally got out 2005 outback 3.0 and its an absolute joy! Coming from a 2.0 leggy power delivery is much more refined and better in everyway. It wasn't smooth sailing though. I had to repair one rear and one front door actuator and a servo for the hvac mode contorl--- such a royal pain. Now i discovered a problem. Power steering was a bit noisy and whiney so decided to flush out fluid using castrol dexIII atf. I had a bit of luck there but still a little bit noisy. So i googled a fix, the o-ring in the return line above the pump. Didnt change it just reseated it. While doing that, i discovered a single wire that is cut off at the back of the pump. It was the pressure switch and apparantly it senses load on the ps pump and send info to the ecu to adjust the rpm. So this is actually my problem. When standing still, if i turn the steering wheel, rpm goes down a bit. And that was the noise i was looking for. Question is do you guys have any hacks to reconnect the wire? It is cut off from the inside so i cant think of any way to connect it. I tried just whacking the wire inside and tape it hoping for a contact but to no avail. Or can i just ground the wire? Hope you guys can help.
  5. Actually, i have just checked mine. No plug for the clock. You can use the navi as a clock. That's what im using.
  6. No but very similar happened to me. Bubbles in the paint. Scratched other panels while sanding. Fingerprints on the clear. Tape marks on clear. Good guy to deal with but what a ****ed up job. Plus waited 4 weeks for that **** job.
  7. I feel for you. It's like they raped our pride and joy honestly I dont know how these people live with the disrespect towards other peoples passion.
  8. took wheels off, put back factory 16's, took stereo off, ready for new owner. PS: will post wheels and and stereo in for sale section later
  9. thanks for the input guys! much excited on our new outback! hopefully all goes well and our plans materialise! did you guys use factory spec rubber on your lowered ob's?
  10. @adikt love that low outback but i reckon wont look good on a pre-facelift outback? also do you have wof concerns when you swapped out the struts?
  11. But can i use legacy stuts on an outback with oem springs? Just bought new bilstein struts 12 months ago and if possible wanting to keep it.
  12. Hi guys. Planning to let go my 05 legacy and upgrade to a 3.0 outback. Few questions: I have spent $$$$ for struts and springs for the legacy. Will the struts be interchangeable with an outback? Does the spring dictate the height? I have read a lot of members here able to tune a legacy 3.0r. Will that be the same case for an outback 3.0 Tyres wise what will be your recommendation for a oem wheel 17 outback wheel? Thanks guys!
  13. or might not been looking hard enough. i would hove thought it would be hanging somewhere but havent seen anything anywhere.
  14. yeah sohc legacy. subaru might have different looms for the base model legacy's
  15. Question guys. Is it possible that the 4 pin cc plug is not wired into the loom? I can't find one on my leggy. I checked the brake switch and its just 2 pins
  16. like Andy_mac's install. we have the same speakers but his is much cleaner install than mine. @Andy_mac, you running an amp for those 6500cx's?
  17. i remember now. a glued the speaker on top of my oem mount. not ideal but money was tight and speakers (infinity 6500cx) were free. i checked the clearance with the door card and it clears. again, not ideal for a clean install.
  18. what i did with mine was cut out the paper woofer to get me a proper mount for my speakers. so cut everything so youre left with a speaker mount. so didnt use any spacers. very cheap.
  19. What focal are you running? And where did you get them? Thinking twice of getting focals off trademe. Might be fakes.
  20. Hi guys. Does anyone know where i could get a jdm legacy key blank? My only key broke and luckily we were able to get a copy of the broken off piece and even luckier that my bp didn't have a transponder system. So tried google, ebay and amazon with no luck. Its a triangular key but seems like its specific for jdm subarus... Thanks!
  21. Did you change the brake switch as well?
  22. got all the jdm stuff out. Its a bit useless really so just rip it out and get proper stuff in. As per the navi, somebody in trademe managed to get nz maps on an oem sat nav (not panasonic ones as pictured)
  23. This worked for me a year ago when i bought my wagon. Used redline fuel system cleaner, subaru UEC, crc maf sensor cleaner, service engine, atf, front and rear diff oils then reset tcu. Car was way more responsive, idle was way better, tranny wasn't so sluggish anymore. Working like a dream. I have reset the TCU through free ssm.
