Does it matter if you "cheap out" on axle stands?
EG: http://www.trademe.co.nz/motors/car-parts-accessories/tools-repair-kits/jacks/auction-712165969.htm
Im presuming they will do the job just as well as stands that are nearer $100 with the same load rating?
I could understand not getting a cheap jack? <- does that really matter either?
Mmmm its still a nay for me.
Although it took a while to grow on me as initially I much prefered the hatch, I really like the current generation sedan. It stands out from the pedestrian styling of most cars today. Although I think the flared arches should be reserved for the Sti, but thats a whole other debate.
The new one, just blends in. Doesnt exite me.
Yeah im not willing to have all the problems for a noise. :-\ Which is why i hoped a hybrid valve might get around it.
A good aftermarket recirc, eg the gfb listed when set to full recirc, shouldnt cause any issues right?
I will need to get one if i go past 20 psi?
Haha, that sucks.

Could be me growing old, but I have a GFB hybrid, and I much prefer the sound it makes full recirc with the snorkel taken off
Hmmm, I like the current sound my factory valve makes, just wish it was a little louder so that someone next to the car can hear it and not just me inside it
Gonna wait till my next car to do any of this anyway.
How loud is yours full recirc?
Ahhkay, I would of thought that as soon as any air as dumped it would cause issues as the engine isnt getting what it expects. How audible would 25% atmo 75% recirc be?
Would that also mean that the car pretty much runs as normal re fuel ratios etc?
Just doing some general reading, I know that running a BOV VTA instead of Recirc will mess with the AFR due to the MAF sensor, GBF claim their Respons TMS doesn\'t affect cars with MAF sensor due it being adjustable.
How much air can the valve dump to atmosphere before it starts to cause an issue? Im suspecting its alot less than GFB are letting on (almost nothing).

I thought all Subaru\'s were 5x100 untill this morning where I came across a page that states the STI 05 and newer is now 5x114.3??
And then to add confusion to it all, apparently the JDM ones retained the 5x100 while the international USDM/NZDM etc (2.5L) STI\'s got 5x114.3?
Which is it? ???
I have an 06 Gtb. Its the first of the facelifts(rev d) and its a great car! Have never driven a non turbo one.
But the interior is nice. Heaps of space in the boot, as expected. Has some nice extras like reclining rear seats etc.
I would say a trademe dealer only search is your best bet to find what you want. I saw a 3.0R that meets your description a day or two ago.
Yup this is the case with my BP5, i told them the car has the factory alarm, immobiliser and chipped key, on my policy it says the car doesnt have an alarm.
I would probably just get a stand alone tracker to keep the insurer happy. But was just curious if alarm manufactures have started to cater for these push button start cars that work on key proximity.
I was near a dealer that had a couple of JDM v11 STI\'s and just couldn\'t help myself, and so went to check them out. Whilst there it occurred to me that an aftermarket alarm might not be possible/ is it even necessary?
The car has no key (apart from an emergency one to open the door) but it unlocks and starts providing the key card is in range. Is it possible to get the usual aftermarket alarm to arm/ disarm with the cars normal operation or would you be required to get a nasty fob?
Is an alarm even necessary since without the key card the car wont start anyway? ( Would only get one for extra immobilisers and GPS tracker to keep the insurance happy)
Would a gps tracker suffice for insurance purposes?
EDIT: I think the key card did have some buttons on it, but not sure what they were for. I never actually held it. as the Salesman held onto it.
Do we have aftermarket parts retailers in NZ that have show rooms so that I can go and day dream about all the parts I cant afford?
Something like Up Garage in Japan. Or like the Racers Edge from the first fast and furious film.
And if not do we have any NZ based online retailers, I struggle to find any NZ based business with a decent website, i.e. parts and prices.
Im just thinking ahead. At least a year out before I swap the leggy for the v11. But what can I say ive got the subie bug.
Mmmmm v10s r so nice :-D
When you likely to get that?
Im yet to see your v7 in action!! That needs to be sorted promptly
Which is why im glad we get all their imports ;D
Jdm STI it is then.... now just need to magic up some money ???
Need some more go fast for the leggy to keep me happy until then.
Starting to fantisise about my next subie.
Which is the better engine the 2.0 jdm or the 2.5 nzdm.
Which is better stock and which is better from a modifications standpoint, ie price and avaliability of parts, how well it makes power, reliability etc.
I heard the 2.5 turbo powerplants like to commit suicide even when stock, is there any truth to this?
