  1. Mrt do a split downpipe for v7 Get that if u wana get a quality unit I have run both split and open bellmouth and couldn\'t feel any difference If u already have a downpipe don\'t spend to doing mods that may net nothing Spend that money on a nice intake or even a nice ebc if u wanted Get a tune done as that will result in the best gains What mods have u got on the car at the moment
  2. Isint the genuine blox supposed to be good stuff?
  3. If u have the cash then get a vf34. Full stop. Other than that a vf30/22 is a close runner up and easier to buy With the right tune both of these will be fine Did I say with the right tune cos that is the important bit This is only tru for single scroll turbo If u wanted twin scroll then something like a vf36 wud be the go to turbo
  4. Depending on what year ur foz is might not have clutch start Do u have to press clutch to start car or can it start without clutch pressed In
  5. Had this on my old v7 For the clutch start thing just put a jumper wire in he connector plug u will see it near the clutch pedal That is the bypass for the clutch start Easy as Anyway for the remote start yea make sure u always in neutral Hahha I had used a cheap china unit and it worked ok for 6mo then the remote started playing up and became a pain One time it somehow got stuck and wud not disengage the starter even when the car was running Damm thing Anyway it\'s a good gimmic if u wana warm the car before jumping in Mine had a 10 min window and u had to turn key manually by then of wud turn car off That was a good thing
  6. It\'s mostly the Nz new v7 wrx that had no avcs The Jdm ones had avcs Also the non avcs ones had a cat in up pipe as well Nice list of mods Should do almost what u want before the afm starts to max But with the weaker wrx block may we best to keep it lower Also depends what point ur turbo maxes out
  7. Ur v7 ecu can easily be retuned almost as good as the other ecu Depending on mods it will be easier to get it done on the stock ecu And tuning is cheap Put up a List of mods u have and what u planning on getting Depending in the mods u can use stock ecu tune or if it is getting a bit too serious then the hks may be the go The hks is not tuned by many tuners here in nz so the support is not as good as say a link If u really wanted to get the hks then u can put a base map for ur v7 on it and it can be tuned from there If ur car is Jdm and the ecu is from Jdm v8 then yea it will plug in with no wiring change needed The map on it will be differen and need adjustment tho hence maybe better to start with ur own model base map Anyway list up ur mods What area u from
  8. The spin has to do with with the wheels turn and the shocks turn as well hence the top hat can spin The rear one does not spin as it does not need to turn Anyway the angle changes on the front wheel as It turns Can\'t remember the technical name of that change of angle but that\'s how It is setup Can someone remember the name of that angle that the front wheel does as that explains it all
  9. I Have actually logged it on closed loop and was around 14.5 ish as per what it normally is There is reason to have theories and all but practically that\'s what I saw hence the statement As I said I wud have been in the same boat of thinking it wud over fuel but not what I have seen in reality Once Again i don\'t recomend this long term but for the purpose of a short drive to the tuner is fine
  10. He has a v7 Sti (based on the stock pink) And it\'s Ecu will run the car in closed loop mode with Decap pink injectors Both the cars refered above are old where the Ecu does not have such control over things as the v7 Ecu does I have practically seen this happen in few cars and including a member car here There is a big difference comparing v7 specific to older or crappy Ecu setup There wud hav been a time I wud have been guessing it wud run crap but as stated Abt keeping it on no boost and low load aka closed loop and the car will drive It\'s not ideal but if its short distances to tuner then yes it will be fine
  11. yes it will run to the tuner decap them and drive very very gentle no boost whatsoever it will be in close loop and fuel will be adjusted have done this in practice and know it works... once u at ur tuner they can reflash to suit (and kiwifozze posted - get a reflash done if u have some mods to go with it and make the most of the decap inj otherwise even on rich tune the pinks will get to 240kw@w) just drive carefully and it will adjust ..if u boost or get the lad up on the engine then it will go on open loop which is where it will overfuel
  12. Usually a straight line in a dyno run I Wud think Lol But yea that\'s a pretty nice conversion well done on the hard work They don\'t seem to have abs in the pics above
  13. Well see how u go after service Hopefully issues disappear Get some nice sparks in there Tune wise well for the most part if it\'s done correctly then not at all Factory ones last forever Just depends how nicely the reflash is done As an example the ones I did Abt 5 years ago still running nice as the day it was done Im sure Ur one should be fine Start off with a service anyway since it\'s due
  14. Start with battery and see if it\'s in good nick Maybe swap and see Also how are the spark plugs? Fuel pumps usually sound Abt the same so if it\'s quieter then maybe check it\'s condition and wiring to it Check ur ground wires Has the Ecu been played with cos maybe they changed some fuel details for the cranking section?? Is it still on stock Injectors?
  15. Depdends on how long u want the engine to Last but generally a few psi over stock wud not be too bad all things considered
  16. Did u clean it? Sometimes the bleed hole gets dirt and cannot bleed enough
  17. Clean it My brothers one did that after not using for month Cleaned it Works good now
  18. some reading for an answer to the above question http://www.clubsub.org.nz/forum/index.php/topic,35842.msg504156.html#new AnwY they work fine if u set them up correctly Prone to some slight overboost in cold temp I had thT issue so simply set it up on a cold night and that way that was the maximum It made less boost in the summer if u Wana get something like that just get a hallman pro as it controlls better than that one and is more consistant and costs less Win all around mate
  19. His one was the cam sensor wire code but yea strange how only 1 wire in loom broke Wirng ones are pia to sort especially if it\'s shorting randomly
  20. Hahaha calls for some back road runs
  21. Did it not backfire with the ebc on bro?
  22. check what map u have in the controller bro hahah but yea so much for ppl who say its as good as ebc lol
