  1. motul rpf600 used that on the track and swear by it - they are really good and even with my pads smoking away, the feel was cosistant and there was really good breaking as far as spongy pedals go.. dunno the price but as quoted above they are not bad.. i had my entire system flushed - took like just over a litre ... fully recomended bro!!

    IHI Turbo info

plus the 24 has more hp potential and similar type spool... if u can get a 28 for the same money i wud recomend that
  3. thats good u got it sorted...but still i wont trust a tap...lol..
  4. maybe an electronic boost controller wud be a better option as they will make a performance difference as well as stop the over boosting for sure
  5. bro try resetting ur computer - unpower battery for a while (i usually leave for an hour or 2 to be on the safe side but can be as little as 20 mins to half) then see if problem presists check for error codes at that point and hopefully that should give an idea whet may be the issue all the best!
  6. im not too sure on the answer (kinda have gathjerd bits here and ther but want to confirm) will a v7 sti 6 speed clutch bolt onto a bg twin turbo gt maual? i think they would as the tt clutch is same as the v3/4 impreza and they i think can fit the 6 speed clutch.. any one has any ideas on this? thanks
  7. 99 b4 has been done with v7 sti engine - needed pretty much loom swap to run the 7 ecu if u got the engine and loom then yes its not too bad to do
  8. the v7 sti has avcs bro... the front cut will be like bumpers and lites and fenders and bonnet i suppose basically all the things to facelift the v7 to v8
  9. from what i have read on the motors, the v7 seems to have the better pistons and they have the valve in the inlet manifold etc.. anyway, the u can always put on a v8 front cut on it..had a mate who was selling his fronf for like 1300 of so ..not too expensixe i suppose
  10. outta curiosity, how much is a set of good condition brembo discs worth - that a full set ot 4 disc for front and rear? PS. is anyone interested in purchasing some..lol..
  11. v7 - purely coz of the sound ;D although the v9 would be the one to go for if u ok with getting the silly non-suby sound (hahah im biased as personally the sound is way more important or i would have gotten a evo7...)
  12. think it runs to 20 then drops down to 17 or so..
  13. check engine mode - more like limb back home mode - when the check engine lite goes on and the car runs really safe map to preserve engine due to sensor faults anyway, is it possible to put the boost setup back to factory type ie remove the turbosmart unit so its all stock and then check if issue still there 1 bar is safe for sti so that may not be the issue what area u in as i can lend u an ecu to check
  14. with no boost controller - the system will run the spring pressure of the gate as said before if you want to increase boose then a controller will be the go as or u can tap it but the main advantage of the controller is that it will make the boost come faster and remain stable (not spiking or gate creep)... the controller is better to spend money on than an external for most street cars (running say up to 230kwatw or so).. as gives better boost buildup with no wastegate creep
  15. maybe the spark plugs need to be re-gapped as the flame could be getting put off from hight boost... or even need new spark plugs.. does the check engine light come on? the hesitation is defenetaly to do with the electrical side cos when my one went to check engine mode, it hesitated lots. also, what computer are you using - maybe swap and see if makes a difference? what sort of boost controller? also, fuel filter - is that sweet and maybe do a fuep pressure test to make sure that is sweet.. just few things to start off.. the v7's are pretty good so has to be something small
  16. a very good mod in conjunction with good break fluid i recently had Brad do it on my v7 and the whole breaking went up a few steps .. the pads came down to the metal and yet i was getting consistant break feel well recomended
  17. get a nice electronic boostcontroller - betst thing u can do.. yea its overboosting - do u have a boost gauge? i think boost cut is like 24psi or so?
  18. for some reason i used to get really good km out of using 91 on my 91 wagon - manual - no mods except a pod blow off and legnum vr4 muffler easily in the 500's per tank .. my mate has recently got a v5 wrx and doed 550 per tank of normal driving... bloody good i must say!!!
  19. some comments.. i have gotten new freodo excells all around as per thread.. the breaks make 0 noise so very good for street and also not much break dust the initial contact seems bit light but as u press harder it stands up to the job.. repeated breaking (hard) will have them smoking but the grip does not go away..i guess its a good thing so u can know when its quits time without having to get break fade and back off.. the above statements are due for reversion simply coz i have to get my breaks bled and then will be able to give some more accurate feedback.. so far they seem good for street...
  20. its common to all the subaru designs from old to new.. in any case, the cost of split rail is not that great and its a really good insurance policy.. that was the 1st mod i did by the way.. Maybe do a dyno just to make sure the AF ratio etc is still good...although i have no doubt it should be sweet...the v7's are good i must say.. ;D
  21. as far as i read around it seems the v4 sti has slightly more torque and drivebility so tunes must be slightlly diffreent - on the USA forum there was a thread saying that the type RA had a lower tune than standard sti based on its shorter gearing not sure if that was true for v3/4 or only v2
  22. just to confirm, the v3 and v4 sti ecu are pretty much interchangeable, right? (so are the sti air flow meters i presume?)
  23. when u switch it on, does the fuel pump prime (u can hear it whirring away at ignition) my mates v5 did the same thing and turns out the pump had died
