  1. MCR Automotive on the shore will do them. Speak with Geoffrey http://www.mcrautomotive.co.nz
  2. If you have not got it by Sunday I may head over that way.
  3. If you bought it from a dealer then the Consumer Guarantees Act should apply. The tyres are not fit for purpose.
  4. At least then it is in the car you don't have to hold the main unit. You can brace the allen key against the body somewhere and just concentrate on the nut.
  5. I had a similar issue when I did mine. The only way to get it was to put it back into the car to crack the nut.
  6. ??? How? Caused an electrical fault?
  7. Just unbolt them and take it for a drive. If the rest of your system is stock it should actually still be pretty quiet.(ish)
  8. Which muffler. The big centre one? Or the 2 before the tail pipe tips.
  9. Been away on holiday for a month so my anger has subsided. Going into salvage mode. Will lodge a CGA claim against the old owners. I don't expect much but it's worth a shot.
  10. Yes. But that's is life. Gonna see how much I can fix myself. If the clear is thick enough I should be able to improve things with some 2000 grit wet paper and rubbing compound. If the clear is thin. Then it's a trip to another paint shop
  11. This needs a bump and probably a reel back in towards Auckland
  12. Gen2 if you want to run Android 5.1.1. The last update of the custom rom on the Gen 1 was 4.4.2 I think. It is also a lot faster. The Gen1 is a bit slow Also if you can afford the LTE version it makes life easier than having to have a separate WiFi thing in your car.
  13. White smoke is probably oil. The initial hit could have been from oil somehow getting into the combustion chamber while it out of the car. Being moved or stored at the wrong angles or just something that some used to clean the intake with so I wouldn't worry too much about the initial startup smoke. If it carries on though there could possibly be issues. Maybe rings or valve seals. I had an old Vectra that had leaking valve seals and it would smoke a bit every time I started the car for about 10 seconds and that was about it.

  15. You can get collars for them. Holds them steady. I'll dig up an Amazon link http://www.amazon.com/gp/aw/d/B006K8N6XO/ One either side of the mounts. Just have to find one that ships to NZ and the right size
  16. New Clutch :-) The original one made it to 150k
  17. I contacted the consumer advice guys and they said that my contract is with the company I paid. They didn't elaborate on that, but it seems that it's too easy to just cut and run.
  18. All I have posted is pictures of the work that was done and only factual information. Just because the person running this is new does not mean any better work will come from it. The new owner would have been fully aware of the car and what I was going through too. But unfortunately the problem here really does lie with the old owner. Oh well. Lesson learned. I will edit the first post to make that clear.
  19. Seems I am **** out of luck with a CGA claim. I just heard back from the consumer advice bureau and my contract is with the company that I paid. Hmm. So I need to try and claim against the old company owners. But I know that they have fled the country to Hong Kong FML
