  1. Mine is a pre facelift McIntosh system and it's a split unit. It almost looks like you could just pull out the volume control unit and drop a single DIN in there. Except that you can't.
  2. Only a little out of date too. :-)
  3. That seller is a member here I think. Is that sobanoodle?
  4. I bought H5 treated bearers from Mitre10 Mega. Each one is 50mm thick so I get a 150mm lift. I think for all 4 corners it set me back about $50 all up (no pun intended really). I have to drive onto the first level before I add the other 2. I don't have 150mm clearance to put all 3 under. So that's why I have the bottom one longer. Never thought of using a mirror to see how I was driving on them. I just open the door and hang myself out.
  5. I see you have the same ghetto car ramps that I use :-)
  6. And they are length adjustable too. So you can pick just how much you want them to poke out.
  7. I really hope you get it sorted. Nobody likes a car that runs like crap
  8. I just meant reset the ECU, as in disconnect the battery for 12 hours so that all of the learned values are reset. Not a remap. I agree that the gains might not be there for a retune.
  9. If it's JDM you may find that going all the way to 98 may give you a similar result. If you want to react faster to the change in fuel then resetting the ECU starts the learning cycle and lets the engine adjust faster to the new fuel. Not sure how that is done on a gen3 though.
  10. I think more like unlucky you soba. I think most people have been very happy with their tunes. I know Matt is working on getting your car running like the like the well oiled machine that it is. At the end of the day it is not his fault that you had a hose off for the initial tune. Yes he was a bit slow to respond after that, but I think he's gotten back to you and I expect you will have a good result in the end just like everyone else. Let me know if you need to use my Tactrix (the full working one) I'm happy to help if needed.
  11. Yea, he does a bunch of those. He's now also building BMC stoppers. They are still looking a bit rougher than the cusco units at this point. He actually made his own sway bars. That is beyond my skill set
  12. http://forum.liberty.asn.au/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=31089&start=45 DIY?
  13. Yea, you might want to hit up Daytona on the forums for a bit of knowledge on that subject. He has a pretty full on system now. The stock cats take out a huuuuge amount of rasp in the exhaust note. He's got 2 high flow cats, 2 hotdogs after those and 2 more resonators on the main section. It's still quite loud and would probably drone a fair bit on an auto. Also what year was your car first registered? If it's 2010 or later then you can't de-cat it.
  14. Have twilight track session booked for the 15th of December. So will be defiantly be running E85 then. There are as good as no places to get E85 in Auckland. HD is the closest. I just have arrange a meeting with a customer of mine who is out that way. The default setting on the new map is for E70 so it is pumping an extra 15% fuel in. The rough running and smoke is essentially because it gets flooded. So it will only do it the first time. I assume it will run rough for a few minutes when changing to a new mix too.
  15. What did you sign up for? To find people that have already made the mistakes I am about to make and then show me how to do it right. Where did you hear about clubsub? Umm, Don't even remember What would you like to see more of? It's actually pretty good as it is. Well done. If you often visit but never post is there a reason or do you feel you get what you need without asking? I'm a bit of prolific poster these days. Love to give advice even when it's not wanted. Is there anything that you don't like? Search is a bit shait. It returns entire threads as results which is great for finding what you want. Especially when there are 1700 pages of a thread. What would persuade you to become a paid member? Done and dusted. Happy to support the club Are the forums/stickys easy enough to follow? Yup.
  16. Loaded up a E-Flex ECU map today. The first minute of that was interesting (embarrassing) The car coughed and spluttered and spewed out black smoke and sounded like a tractor until the ECU finally realised that I still had normal petrol in the car, at which point it finally started running normally again. Time for a trip to Hampton Downs to try some corn juice :-)
  17. Headers should be in stock shortly :-) I assume you are only removing the 3rd cat? Don't do a complete decat, it will sound horrible.
  18. Daytona had the same mufflers on his too
  19. One day it will happen :-) Maybe not 22 pounds worth but about half that
  20. No sensor required on most BL/BP legacies. The ECU had enough space and sensors to work out what is in the tank. Sorry to hear that he's been slack on communications. I try to push him a bit to get back to people. But at the end of the day it's up to him to actually reply. I'll give him a nudge and see if you get some action.
  21. Matt has done a flex fuel map for me so I can run any blend of ethanol to 98. The guy is a legend really. Time for a track day. Fill up on E85 at Hampton Downs
  22. I still want to have a drive at some point in your car. I took mine out to Hunua Falls on the weekend and I remember exactly why I bought the H6. Just effortless power. Not throw you off the road and maim you for life power, just good smooth consistent delivery and music to your ears when giving it some stick.
  23. AFAIK the post facelift box is the same as the STI box inside and out. The pre facelift box has slightly different ratios with a longer 6th gear (only 3.0R because the GTB has a 5 speed) and the gears are cut differently for smoother engagement.
